We have a Frymaster FBCR18 Series Gas Rethermalizer Fryer. The challenge we are having is the ignition module will lock out after the unit runs for a few minutes on initial startup. We currently remove the 24V power to the module, it resets and operates for a while then returns to lockout status. We have to do this about 10-12 times till it reaches setpoint temp. of 195. After that the unit operates properly throughout the day. The ignition module is a dual ignitor. We have inspected the pilot assemblies with the flame sensors and they look good. Supply Gas pressure is 7.6" W.C. Should we replace the module as our next step? Gary

I have a fm45esd natural gas fryer and i have flames comming out the front of the unit. any clues

The gas valve may be leaking gas out where it should not be leaking gas out. You may need a new gas valve. This could be a safety issue, not just with a fire, but a potential fire gas explosion. Please get it fixed ASAP.

Frymaster Pilot not lighting

first thing I would check is to make sure the quick disconect on the gas hose is fully connected, and that the cut off valve is tured on.Sometimes the orifice in the pikot assembly can become stopped up.(where you light it by the burner)you can check there by undoing the gas line at the compression nut on the assembly.the hole is really small and you can use a small needle to clear it.

Fryer not starting

I'm suspecting one of the following causes:

1. The thermo couple/thermo pile
2. Gas valve sticking, intermittant operation, doesn't snap open when required all the time. THIS CAN ONLY BE PROVED WITH A MANOMETER and specialized meter that can measure thermocouple or thermoppile current, and volt meter.

I've worked on many a McDonalds Frymaster beeping fryers that intermittantly go into ignition failure that TURNS OUT TO BE THE ACTUAL GAS VALVE FAILING TO SNAP OPEN, and hang only once in a while. Gas valves are only good for so many operations, once that has been reached start failing. The indicator you gave, IT WAS USED BEFORE YOU GOT IT makes me believe it is your gas valve!

ps: manual for your unit

Frymaster fryer keeps calling for help on electronic keyboard.

There should be some kind of spark sensor usually where the gas line plugs into the pot. There is one wire hooked to it take the sensor out and clean it good. Soot could be building up on it causing it to nolonger sense a flame.
