Here is the procedure. You DO have to remove the flexplate cover to get to the back 2 bolts. There are also a couple struts on the sides that block a couple bolts, if i recall correctly. I think you can do it in a couple hours.

3.3L & 3.8L Engines

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Drain the engine oil.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

Negative battery cable Engine oil dipstick Drive belt splash shield Strut to transaxle attaching bolt and loosen the strut to engine attaching bolts Transaxle case cover Oil pan fasteners Oil pan and gasket
To install:
  1. Clean the oil pan and all mating surfaces.
  2. Apply a 1 / 8 inch bead of gasket material at the parting line of the chain case cover and the real seal retainer.
  3. Install or connect the following:

New gasket on the oil pan Oil pan. Torque the bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm). Transaxle case cover All bending brace bolts Drive belt splash shield Engine oil dipstick Negative battery cable
  4. Fill the crankcase to the correct level.
  5. Start the engine, check for leaks and repair if necessary.

How hard is it to change a oil pan gasket

It's not hard ,but you need to know if there might be any obstruction that might get in the way preventing you dropping the pan down just make sure all the oil is drained before you start ,and make sure you clean both surfaces thoroughly before putting gasket on ,and you must tighten all bolts or screws evenly or it will leak .

How hard is it to change a oil pan gasket on a 2004 chrystler sebring

Changing the gasket is not hard at all. More tedious and dirty than anything. All you need to do is take off the 6-8 bolts that are holding the pan up. I would drain the oil first, so that you do not have such a mess. Once drained, take the pan off, and make sure you remove all of the old gasket with a flat tip screwdriver. Place the new one on, and bolt the pan back on.

Oil pan gasket replacement

It shouldn't be hard on that car as the oil pan is exposed. Unplug the oil plug and drain the oil. Then unbolt the oil pan, clean off the old gasket and replace. Make sure you scrape both the pan and the block clean thoroughly and then bolt back up. Don't forgot to replug the drain plug.

Oil pan

you have to raise the car if you can go to a lifter, or the hard way is to use aligator jacks, lift it as high as you can, use jack stands for safety, go underneath the engine, ( be sure the car is safe to go underneath)

drain the oil by removing the oil plug in the pan,
remove all bolts surrounding the oil pan,
gently remove the oil pan and take note not to tear the old pan gasket.( If you already have a new gasket then its ok to damage it)
do the repair on the pan as you wish,
then do the reverse on installing.

if you will use the old gasket, may i suggest that you use silicone gasket to further seal the pan and prevent oil leakage.

2002 Jeep Wrangler appears the rear of the oil pan gasket is leaking. How hard is it to change out and any tips/

It is the oil pan gasket all you have to do is drop the oil pan clean the bottom of the engine block and the surface of the oil pan and install the oil pan again. a very simple process. Make sure that it is not the rear main crank seal that is leaking. If it is the rear main then you will have to remove the tranny to replace the rear main seal.
