try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.

My Samsung fridge is showing a plug in sign on the display...though the cooling is normal

If your Samsung fridge is showing a plug-in sign on the display, it usually indicates that the refrigerator is not detecting a power source. However, if the cooling is normal, it is likely a display error.
To clear the display error and restore normal settings on your Samsung fridge, you can try the following steps:
  1. Unplug the fridge from the power source and wait for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the fridge back into the power source and check if the error message has disappeared.
  3. If the error message is still there, try resetting the fridge by pressing and holding the power freeze and power cool buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. This should reset the display and restore normal settings.
If the error message persists despite trying the above steps, it might be an indication of a more serious problem with the fridge. In such cases, it's best to contact Samsung customer support or a certified technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

I have a 60 inch Samsung television. Sometimes when I use the remote the TV screen turns to horizontal lines then it wants to turn off and then back on again until I unplug it. Once I unplug it for while...

That is an issue I have never seen on here before, and I have seen thousands.

It leads me to think it is a remote control issue, or if it is cycling on and off, on, and off every few seconds, the power board.

Two things to try.

Remove the mains plug to the television. Remove the batteries from the remote. Leave 10 minutes, and put brand new Duracell batteries in the remote. Plug in the television and try again.

Remove the wall plug for 5 minutes. Plug it in. What happens if you switch on and change channels and volume from the set, NOT from the remote. If it works okay, it is the remote or the remote sensor in the television.

SCX4824FN driver

Fixya doesn't have any drivers for any device, the only place to get the software is at the manufacturers support site, if they don't have the needed drivers to use Linux then it likely doesn't exist.

Samsung CLP-315 color laser printer Haven't used it for a couple months. Tried last night, got "system error" message. It said to cycle power. Tried that 5 times alst night, no joy. Left...

When you cycled the power, did you just push the power button?

If so, to really do a power cycle you need to unplug, let sit off for 30 seconds, then plug back in.

Error during startup operation, message 80080514

According to the PlayStation Knowledge center, It's either a "update software" issue, a connection issue or a power cycling issue: Power-cycle means to turn the networking devices OFF (i.e., unplug it from the power source), and then to turn it back ON after a set period of time. This will allow the network devices to refresh its settings.

Please power-cycle ALL of your network equipment, including any wireless access points, routers, Voice Over IP (VOIP) modems, and broadband modems for two (2) full minutes. After 2 minutes, you can turn on (or plug in) your equipment.
For being information from PlayStation, it's surprisingly non-specific. I suggest you try taking all steps asked by PS. like updating, checking your connection, then power cycling with the above instructions. Hope this helped.

I am having difficulty printing, receiving error message #1201 which is not in the manual. Re: Lexmark FAx X4270 Please provide me with a suggestion.

Hi teri,

I've seen this before and I know that once it was fixed by cycling the power a certain way. Try this:

1) Turn the printer off.
2) Unplug all of the cables.
3) Plug the power cable back in.
4) Turn the printer back on.
5) If the 1201 message on the Control Panel comes back up, try plugging the printer directly into the wall or into a different power strip. If no error message, plug the USB cable back into the printer and try printing.

It could also be a faulty AC adapter - if you have access to another compatible AC adapter try that. If the message continues, then the printer is probably defective and you should check your warranty status.

Please let me know what you come up with.
