As described in the owners manual, set the microphone at the primary listening position at ear level, prop it up somehow, a camera tripod works well, plug the mic into the receiver front port, near and under volume dial, and follow instruction on the receivers screen.

Hello Fixya team, I need help!

To set up your home theater system with the equipment you mentioned, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the Onkyo receiver to the NEC TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure the HDMI input on the TV is set to the correct input for the Onkyo receiver.
  2. Connect the Panasonic DVD player to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the Firestick Lite to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  4. Connect the Panasonic speakers to the Onkyo receiver using speaker wires. Make sure you connect the speakers to the correct speaker terminals on the receiver, which are usually labeled with the speaker's position (e.g. front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right).
  5. Configure the Onkyo receiver to use the correct input for each device. For example, set the input to "DVD" when you want to watch a movie on the Panasonic DVD player, or set the input to "Firestick" when you want to watch content on the Firestick Lite.
  6. Configure the audio settings on the Onkyo receiver to use the correct audio format for your content. For example, if you are watching a movie with Dolby Digital surround sound, make sure the receiver is set to decode Dolby Digital audio.
  7. Adjust the volume and other audio settings on the Onkyo receiver as needed to optimize the sound quality.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy surround sound audio from your Panasonic speakers through the Onkyo receiver.

I recently connected my satellite reciever to my

Iassume you mean you hear the buzz independently of the audio program - simply connecting the cable causes the buzz?

If tanything in the mix is powered from different AC sources you may have a different ground potential. Sometimes manipulating the orientation of one or more ac plugs will solve hum problems.

Cant wire theatre system right, only get surr. on dvd

Do you have a High Def cable box and Tv? if so you would use and HDMI cable from your cable box to your tv, then run an optical audio or coax audio from your cable box to your surrond system. Depends on which plug you have on both for the audio portion. If you dont have HD tv than you would run cable wire from cable box to tv then run red and white audio from cable box to surround system, to listen to it you would select aux channel.

Hope this Helps.

7.1 channel onkyo home theater -- no sound out of subwoofer

You might try different listening modes; Some modes (Direct, DTS, Dolby - though I'm not sure which, offhand) require a seperate LFE track for sound to be output by the subwoofer.

Cant get sound out of the receiver on the sat input

Have you selected the appropriate input type? (e.g. Optical, HDMI?)

Some receivers (like my Onkyo 606) support HDMI passthrough, but will not decode audio signals from HDMI. Making it a pretty useless port!

Do you get sound when you select FM Tuner on the Pioneer?

No sound through the speakers...

It may be the PS3
you have to select Optical Out 5.1 etc first.
That PS3 is not user friendly at all.
