Panasonic DVD Palmcorder (VDR-D100) 1.5 yrs old will not power up

I have a Panasonic dvd camcorder that is only 1.5 years old and maybe used 4 times in all. Last week recorded my son ,watched it on the camcorder(everything was fine) next day tried to turn it on & no power.... Battery is fully charged, tried to connect to tv w/ power cord......no power. Called Panasonic and said send it in w/o warranty your looking @ about $275.00 to repair. Does anyone have an idea what is going on?!?
Thank you, Tanya

I had the same problem once on my VDR100 and took it to the service centre. They turned it back in a day working perfectly and mentioned that a screw was loose and they fixed it. Just shake your unit and check if you can hear a rattle as I remember mine had one before repair. I am not sure how to repair it by ourself.
