Hello, I am hoping you can help me with this. I have recently installed 3D Professional (ver.7.2.51.1) running with Vista. Everything runs, with no apparent issues at this time. I had to get a parallel port board installed for my #1+ reader/writer, as my new computer only had USB. After install of parallel port, I am able to read my preprogrammed Embroidery Card 1, which came with #1+ embroidery unit. I am able to read my programmable Embroidery Card. When I try to write to the card, I recieve" first, "All designs will be deleted from Programmable Embroidery Card". I click OK second, the box comes up showing "Transferring data please wait" and immediately "cannot write to card". I would like some direction as to what might be the problem. 3D will not run properly on a Windows 7 computer.The USB reader/writer will work fine with 5D software.
Trust me, I have tried extensively to get 3D to run on Windows 7. I ran it on Vista, for a while. Then an update to Windows ended that. I've never had it function normally on Windows 7.

1st try another usb port
2nd uninstall the software and plug the device in only after you have reinstalled the software and you are asked to plug it in. If it doesn't ask then install the software first and try again.

You can also right click on my computer and select manage.
then on the left side of the window select device manager, unplug and plug back the usb dongle and see if any devices appear or disappear also note any yellow ! marks. you may have to press the scan for new hardware button or right click on the window to scan for hardware changes.

If you are talking about Bernina artlink software here is a patch, but you nbeed to register. Check it out

Not sure which version of Husqvarna software you have. The older Customizing is problematical on Vista (for which read forget it LOL!) but 3D or 4D are fully supported by Husqvarna for installing on Vista. Make sure you have the latest updates for your program installed and check the FAQs on the Husqvarna website for help.

Have you checked at the Husqvarna online site for a download/patch.

3D software does not run on Windows 7.

4D does.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about the replacement dongle. Have you taken your software and dongle into your dealer and had them try installing it on their computer? Or if you have a laptop, take yours in and see if they can help you. It may just be a matter of downloading new dongle drivers. Do a Google search for 3D Dongle drivers - I think Aladdin has the drivers you need. Also you will need to be running XP or Vista 32-bit on your computer for 3D software to work.

1. Did the software come with a dongle? This is a "key" that looks like a memory stick, that is actually a copyright protection device. You cannot access the program without it. To get the program to recognize it. plug it into a free USB Port, then power up your computer. It will read the dongle as a new device and install it on your computer. Always make sure the dongle is plugged into the same USB port as when its installation.

2. Check the operating system compatibility of your embroidery software and your computer.

What is your computer's OS? If you have Vista, it will not read Win95-XP. In that case, you may need to find a used computer to dedicate to your embroidery and install Win 98. I have XP 2000 and it reads all the Win programs back through 95.

My Husqvarna Rose/3D Embroidery Studio, will not operate with the Vista program. It will run on XP, because XP is backward compatible to previous Windows programs.

If this is the problem, you can still purchase older Windows programs very affordably. Before installing it on your hard drive, I would get expert instructions from a professional, who would back up your hard drive. I've also heard of people partitioning their hard drives, so that they could use more than one operating system.

(This is MUCH CHEAPER than purchasing a new machine and all the software, etc to go with.)

Just a note: The small notebooks they've come out with, do not have the proper drive to run your embroidery program.

3. If you have the reader'writer that came with the machine and no serial port on your computer or printer, you can take the box to your local Radio Shack or computer repair, where you can get an adapter with a serial plug on one end and a USB plug on the other, or get the "Ultimate Box Plus". The adapter is cheaper.

One, or all, of these little tidbits may fit your problem.

I have Ver. 1.1 and also have Vista. I have called Sears, been transferred over and over, called Kenmore again transferred and then sent back to Sears. I have searched online and can't find anything! I really want to use my machine but without the software it makes it so limiting. HELP! Anyone out there know what to do???
