I have a Rank Arena BF260 freezer I got from my dad. There is a switch on the front, if it is to the left, there is no icon on it, if it's to the right it has a snowflake icon show. Dad didn't even realise it was there and has no idea about it. What is it for? Thanks Sarah

Orange light means it cannot cool properly. I would get it checked by a competent refrigeration engineer.

Freezers have an electric motor within to pump the freezer gas around. Its possible the movement has caused a problem. Get ban appliance shop or tech to check it out.

If the machine is a small self contained unit it is normally on the right side of the unit next to the water pump. It has two wires (usually red and black) encased by a grey cover.

I understand you are having trouble with the door sealing on your upright freezer. Many times this can be caused by the freezer not being leveled. If the freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems. To level your upright freezer use a carpenter's level to level the freezer from front-to-back. Adjust the plastic leveling feet in front, 1/2 bubble higher, so that the door closes easily when left halfway open. I hope this information has been helpful.

Starting the Appliance
Insert the plug into the wall socket. The green pilot light will illuminate to show that the appliance is switched on. The red alarm light will also illuminate until the freezer reaches the correct temperature.

Alarm Light
The red alarm light will illuminate when the temperature in the freezer is higher than the thermostat setting. This alarm light will illuminate if:
- The appliance has just been started.
- Fresh food has been put in the freezer.
- The lid has been left open, opened frequently or open for too long.
The red light will go out when the freezer has returned to the correct temperature

You should try to un-plug the freezer and let it stand up-right over night to re-settle the freon back down inside of the compressor.

The compressor should normally get hot if it is doing it's job right, and there is a starter for the compressor motor (usually it looks like a large capacitor) that could have failed, or the defrost timer (if it has one) could be stuck, and you should be able to see the small dial on the defrost timer slowly turning, and if it does not turn, then replace the defrost timer.

The alarm should go off when it reaches 0 degrees if not post back

OK I just figured out this must be a european model refrig! 
i'm having trouble finding an owners manual in english so looking at the manuals that are in spanish it looks as if there is an on off switch on the 6th sense board. if i'm correct its the icon right above the mode button has picture of one cube next to picture of 3-4 cubes. sorry i led you on a wild goose chase. thx peyton
