I have a PS3 that has been hooked up to the same HDMI cord for the bast six months. I used it the other night and turned it off for the night, now it is not working. I have attempted to reset the video with still no results. Anyone have any suggestions?

There is a way to perform a hard reset of the console. i had to do this once.
BACK UP BEFORE YOU DO THIS OR YOU'LL LOSE GAME SAVES MUSIC ECT. GO TO THE BACK UP UTILITY IN THE MENU AND BACK UP WITH A SD CARD(PS3 FAT 60gb) USB STICK OR EXTERNAL HDD
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/2 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
This should take care of the glitch in the A/V

Setting up your HDMI cable on your PS3 games console

1: Turn on your TV and set its input to HDMI.

2: Make sure your PS3 is connected via a HDMI cable.

3: Power on your PS3 and press and hold the power button for approx. 5 seconds, you will hear the PS3 start to beep, release the power button after the second beep.

Can't find setting to use my ps3

Try each setting if you have it hooked up via HDMI. If nothing comes in, try turning the PS3 and TV off and disconnect the cord and reconnect it. You may also wish to use a different HDMI port. Otherwise, your HDMI cable, PS3 or TV may be faulty.
