Our 1994 LHS is running great. Recently the engine shuts off while we are driving or when we are stopped at a light. The engine would start up again when we put it in neutral or park but recently it will have to sit about 1 hour before it would start again. We have replaced the fuel pump, CAM sensor and the MAP sensor but have not eliminated the problem.

if this unit has an over drive tork converter the tork converter or the TC valve (solenoid) might be faulty, have you tried keeping your foot on the gas a bit to keep it running ? and what happens ? also some engines have a low oil pressure warning and engine cut out , did you check your oil ???
it's either a spark or fuel fault , if there is spark after it shuts down it is a fuel fault. connect a pressure gauge in the fuel line, start the engine , note fuel pressure around 35 psi , stop engine , pressure should drop a little then hold, if not check pump return valve and pressure regulator , check fuel flow , if low replace fuel filter,
I checked another site that had a possible solution. It told how to check the ignition switch. After performing this check I decided to replace it. Still no go. The only other thing I could think of was possibly a loose or broken wire somewhere. After looking it over I decided that tracing the wires would be too much trouble.
My solution was to by a remote push button starter switch. I'd just run a wire from the battery to the switch and from the switch to the starter. As of this writing I'm still in the process of installing it. I did manage to "hot wire" the starter and it started fine. That's what lead me to believe the problem is in the wiring. So this remote switch should work.
