Pull the front speaker grille off and remove the access panel. In the customer menu turn the color off so you have a black and white picture. get a flashlight and adjust the screen controls for the red, green and blue tubes until you get a nice black and white picture. then turn the color back up.
use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.
s-video carries luminance and chromanance.
In simple terms, luma provides a a black and white picture, chroma the color data.
without chroma, you get no color.
Either
- the cable is bad (usually in the form of bent/broken pins in the connector ends
- the source device is bad
- the projector input is bad
have you tried other devices for input...vcr, or other dvd players to see if it is a problem with the player or with the tv? Check the output setting for the dvd player (1080i etc) and ensure you are connecting to the proper inputs for either analog or digital signals (RCA inputs or RGB).
Ok what we need to do here is determine if the picture tube is still good or not??.. If you turn the tv to a station thats has a brighter scene and turn off the color what does the pic look like ??is it Black and white or a certain color overall on the screen??
