Pt5499hd akai Hi, My tv became unfocus. It has 2-3 different color ghost images (red, blue, green or something like that). It used to have the auto focus come on and bring the images together. But now, the auto focus comes on for a little bit an goes out. I try to manual focus it, by pressing the focus button but it try partly and goes out. What is wrong and how can I fix it? What does this fuzzy image look like? Does it have ghosting shadows. Of course it is possible to align red manually from the convergence menu. But first lets confirm that it is indeed a convergence related problem.

you will need to replace the two STK392-560 ICs and also check the 4.7 ohm 1/2 watt resistors and the six 3.5 amp pico fuses.

Your green gun in our tv is misagligned/out of focus. Your tv uses red, green and blue guns that layer in different shades and mix to create the different colors. Your green is a little off so the colors aren't mixing right which explains the green haze and the shadows. A tv repair man can fix this problem pretty easily and it isnt expenisve.

Either the convergence chip has gone bad or the Focus block is bad. In any case,you will need to consult with a professional technician to solve this problem
