My friends motorola L6 was bought brand new unlocked in uk from carphone warehouse for use in the phillipines a smart sim is fitted and smart settings inserted to the best of our knowledge but still cant use mms gprs is working and phone calls and messages ok but cant use mms for sending pictures or music etc

Are you sending MMS to phone on same network? That is only way MMS will work in Philippines. See this message board for more info

Yes, just type any password until your phone asking PUK code. PUK code is a unique number to unlock your phone if you forget your password. With puk code you can unlock motorola L6 from old password and you can setup new password, but please pay attention when you entering that code don't make mistake for many times. It will not make your motorola unlocked and your sim card also locked.

the code you're given is meant to be a one time open network, where you basically reset your phone's network settings. If you buy a cheap PAYG phone from the carphone warehouse, you can use any sim card you want as they're all open phones :)

Phone show no service

Call ATT and tell them you need your device unlocked..if it's not reading other sim cards...it's either one of two things...the phone isn't really unlocked or the sim card reader on the phone isn't working (ie: you have a useless phone!) Sorry to be so blunt. :-)

This problem should not be in the Motorola L6 troubleshooting section but if you can post more info on what it is asking you for eg. codes etc then i may be able to help.It may be a code for your sim card and if so you'll have to contact your service provider and ask them for it.
