Some of the songs I have downloaded to my ilo will not play. The songs are on the MP3 player's screen but are silent when I press "play" I have contacted tech support through wal mart and they could not help. Can you? ( I have already handled the licensure thing through them about 2 months ago.)

Re:
Ok, the problem is you need to convert the songs that don't play into mp3 files unprotected mp3 files then they will play.

you can use foobar to convert the files http://www.foobar2000.org/
or you can get some program that is made for converting files.

you simply need to convert the files so they are all the same, the ones have minor difrences for example the bitrate can be diffrent or they may be locked / protected the converter will if that.

before copying the songs into mp3 player first format the card in the mp3 player after that insert the card into computer and copy all the songs what ever you want
make sure the songs you download are right for your mp4 player because Limewire only plays mp3 songs. so i would go on the internet and find a music site that has mp4 songs
when you synch your device to windows media player 11 on the side bar under the name of your device says songs click on it then find the songs you don't want right click and delete as for the songs that won't play i'd say it's probably because it doesn't support the format of the music
your ILO has somehow lost its file structure. look for a tiny pinhole to reset the device. if none, then remove batteries to attempt reset. if still no songs, then firmware upgrade if possible or copy file structure (using windows) from a friend's ILO.
You might want to try these suggestions:
1. In folders options, click on the box that will show all hidden files.
2. Be sure to copy the MP3 songs unto a Temp folder that you create only for these MP3's
3. Stop all background running programs, like spyware, anti-virus, firewalls etc. Be sure you are not connected to the Internet (DSL).
4. After all of the above has been accomplished, go ahead and do a Copy and Paste of your MP3 from that newly created Temp folder to your iLo MP3 player.
I hope this helps. Restart your computer to get all background running programs running again.
