I have a 6 yr old Whirlpool side-by-side fridge and we've had the same problem over and over. No one seems to know what is wrong. 1st there would be water just leaking from the back of the freezer and eventually out to the floor. The drain would plug-up with ice. We also have a lot of frost build-up in the middle vent in the refrigerator side. When i open the freezer door i can feel cool air coming in the top vent to the fridge side but when i close it...nothing. it takes me 30 min to an hour to defrost the vents so it can cool the fridge side and repeat the whole process every 6 weeks but now its every week. please help! The water fill tubes might be bad with your fridge and there is a problem with the water tubes too which will need to be replaced as well.

I had a fridg that did that and it was the mother board. Unplug for 30 min and it would work a week then fail..

Hey i think they freze free lol and thers no tubes they are connected by chanels/ tunels blockes at the back fron freezer down. Reg temp yr nobe controler could b gone or temp module. So thats why it wont help lol check if the temp changes after yr turning it, so atleast u can iluminate that.. if it is working. Than i would sugest next checking yr front doors rubers and magnets on them all the way and both doors.. as wen it gets old it could b having gaps so there 4 it will not close the dore properly and u wont even know or notice and if thats the case. Thats why it running inside, as it not fully and all aront germeticky closed .. hooe that helps you . G/luck ??.. Tony

well i think you know what this is!!!!
you moved it and it got upset about it?
but some freezers need to be dead upright
or,,,its the darn thermostat's there playing you up like mad if you cant control them there on there way out
best bet is have new ones fitted or just dump it all together,,after all think of how much that floor is worth? and how much ice cream do you need????
ps,,,i use a hammer drill to get my ice cream out the tub?? have you ever tryed "fried ice cream" its realy

Hi, this problem is going to be with the running thermostat. (cold Control). It has gone bad and stays open which in turn will keep the compressor running continually and will cause the fridge to get colder and freeze food. It can normally be located in the control panel inside the fridge (it is the control that has wires, the other is the damper). Locate the thermostat and replace it. Use a vacuum and clean under your fridge. A dryer cleaning brush will help make the job go much faster. Use a good light so you can get all the lint out. Give it 12 hours to level out. hope this is helpfull.. Saw

Is your model the ED25PQXF ? Can you explain what you need to do manually to cause it to work? The thermostat? If thermostat is the answer the thermostat will need replaced. By straight wiring the 2 wires it turns refrigerator on. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Turns out we had a bad control board. One of the coponets was blown and it had to be replaced. $400.00 and its good as new.

Either there is a loose connection at that board or in the plug where the wiring goes into the door (should be at top or bottom door hinge). If all connections are tight then replace the board. Not sure how old this unit is but it does come with a one yr warranty from date of purchase.
