All of the Garmin automotive GPS units that speak
street names are also loaded with basic voice prompts (i.e. 'Turn Right in 500 feet') as well as 'text-to-speech' voices that speak
street names. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak
street names.
In order to change this setting, please follow these steps:
- Touch Tools (Wrench Icon) from the Main Menu
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Language*
- Touch on the blue rectangle that corresponds with Voice
- Touch on a voice that is labeled with (TTS) at the end. These voices will speak street names. Options without a name or the TTS label will say the distance until the next turn, but will not include the street name.
- Touch Ok
The voice has now been changed.
If this is not what you meant, please reply with further details. If you found the solution resolved your issue, kindly take a moment to award this a Fixya rating in appreciation of my efforts.
Thank you.
