My guess is that you all have Vista, or an XP install with Windows Media Player 11.

Revert back to Windows Media Player 10 and fire up the Device Manager that came on the CD (You can also find it at phillips' website, in the product support section.) Click on the tab that says 'Repair' and hit the 'Repair' button. This should fix your problem.

Note that this will remove all of your files from the device.

SOURCE: How to use iTunes with a Philips GoGear MP3 player?

You have to convert the file from an aspple/aac audio file to an mp3 file. The easiest way to do this is to download a free audio/video converter like format factory from download.com, and you can easily convert the files to mp3's very quickly. You also have to be sure that your apple tracks are DRM free.

My Gogear mp3 is frozen. all I see on the screen is uploading 96% . It never reaches 100% and freezes. I have pushed the reset buttton and when it comes back on the same thing happens.

I think, this link will help you:
http://www.userdrivers.com/MP3-Player/Philips-GoGear-SA6015-SA6025-SA6045-MP4-Player-Firmware-Upgrade-1-15-2/

Here you can make software upgrade and then your player will work correctly again. Please take care of that all media files of the device will be erased while upgrading so make back up your files before.
Good luck!

Frozen

ok.
all you need to do is push and hold the ^ (up) key on the front and the Volume + key on the side for a few seconds. This will force the hddto reset and turn off. Now you can turn it back on and continue using it. Please note this doesn’t erase the data or music off the MP3 player.
