You have a Clutch malfunction common problem with the FAV6800A and FAV9800A TL's. Owners very seldom report all the conditions of wild tub swings. You are on the ball with info feedback. See if this post Clutch Fix will get you started. Post back if you have questions or need help.........Rich
there are springs that keep tub centered.also some small glides that can wear.most common prop.spring.most models can look thru bottem .the spring that fails most is towards the back, left rear, goes from washer to body.check that out God bless, tom
No belt on your machine. Sounds like motor coupler that joins motor and transmission is broken. Very inexpensive part but a few steps involved in getting machine disassembled Look up YouTube video on replacing motor coupler on Whirlpool washer.
hi without further investigation its a bit hit or miss , does the whole tub tilt or is it just the inner drum ?
if its just the inner drum then it sounds like the bearings are on there way out
if its the whole tub then it could be one of the springs that it hangs from or the shock absorber underneath that may have come adrift
hope this helps

remove the top access panel 3 screws in top rear. now look around and push on the drum from top it has suspension shocks and springs like your car they should resist any movements. look/wiggle the concrete balance blocks , no cracks or loose. inside the tub are the arm solid /not loose. run it with the top open what do you see/hear and where look under the rubber flap in front did anything get under the tub
Curdy, it almost sounds like your lid switch is loose or fractured and the lid actuator is not making the switch. Check this out first and post back...Catriver.
