it is possible for a virus to infect the cmos chip, but i didn't think it was possible unless you were performing a bios flash. however, it may be possible that the virus found a new vulnerability through your tweaking program, if this brogram can change motherboard hardware settings such as front bus speeds...

Just for the heck of it, try blowing out the cooling fan with some compressed air. If you have never cleaned it and the fan stops turning, the computer will go into a safe mode and not start up.
Ther should be a vent somewhere on the side of the laptop that vents hot air cooling the CPU. That is where you need to blow it out.
Hope it helps- just a longshot...
a possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU also you might not have enough ram random acess memory to check what is running when your computer is running scroll to the bottom toolbar right click select task manager applications and processes if you see something you dont need running select end now to check how much ram you have click start right click om my computer select properties you will see all of your computers details
hope this helps
