I have a problem with my Extensa 562OG. When I am starting it, it always a few times spontaneusly restarts. When I am starting computer form the battery only and then I hibernate the computer and then I start it with charger, everything is going more stable. When I start the computer with charger it is unstable and spontaneously restarting. After 6-7 restarts it comes to windows. then i hibernate it and start again. Things are going more stable and computer is running 2-3 hours withou restart. Memory, HDD are OK. No viruses (restarts is sometime a few seconds after power on and sometimes during system booting). BIOS has been chaged many times. Also different versions of OS has been tried. Where could be the problem?

SOURCE: Either a black screen or a blue screen

Black Screen of Death - BSoD Short for Black Screen of Death, BSoD is the name of an error message that occurs on OS/2 that resembles the BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) in Microsoft
Blue Screen of Death - BSoD Also known as a bluescreen or bugcheck in Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP, ... Also see: Black screen of death, Error, GPF, Operating system definitions

Or would take back have them to exam the computer if still under warrenty

SOURCE: Acer 3100, NO Boot, keyboard locked out,

it is possible for a virus to infect the cmos chip, but i didn't think it was possible unless you were performing a bios flash. however, it may be possible that the virus found a new vulnerability through your tweaking program, if this brogram can change motherboard hardware settings such as front bus speeds...

SOURCE: Acer Extensa 5420 won't turn on, not a power/battery problem.

Just for the heck of it, try blowing out the cooling fan with some compressed air. If you have never cleaned it and the fan stops turning, the computer will go into a safe mode and not start up.
Ther should be a vent somewhere on the side of the laptop that vents hot air cooling the CPU. That is where you need to blow it out.
Hope it helps- just a longshot...

How can i reset password of acer extensa 4620z

Hi chubico04...

Try this solution to your problem.
Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

My acer extensa 5630z just randomly shuts off how do I fix this

try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this will schedule on a restart then defragment your hard drive

a possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU also you might not have enough ram random acess memory to check what is running when your computer is running scroll to the bottom toolbar right click select task manager applications and processes if you see something you dont need running select end now to check how much ram you have click start right click om my computer select properties you will see all of your computers details

hope this helps

Acer extensa 4630z windows complete restore

I wrote to Acer myself about this and this is their reply.

The other way before Vista starts up is to tap ALT + F10 (at the same time repeatedly) when the computer is first switched on.. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts

Once you have tapped both the ALT and F10 repeatedly, you may see a screen showing:

“Edit Boot options for Microsoft Windows Vista”

If you see this, unfortunately, you have missed the window of opportunity, and you need to restart, and try again.

If you see this:
“Edit Boot options for Windows Setup” OR “Edit Boot options for Acer eRecovery”

Then it indicates that you have tapped the ALT + F10 correctly, and all you now need to do is press “Enter” and the Recovery program should load on your screen after a short pause..

In some cases, you may need to remove the battery (for notebooks only) and run the machine directly from the mains.

The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs.

This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine.
If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process.
