How do i turn off content advisor

Hi Anonymous,

I am assuming you are using Internet Explorer browser on windows 7 operating system so you may try opening Internet Explorer, click tools, then Internet options and content tab. Now in content advisor check disable option.
However, if you are using a different browser or operating system do let me know.

Thanks and Regards.

My son has a laptop and i forgot my parental control password and i need to rester it..can you help?

Windows XP/Reset Parental Control
If you mean the Content Advisor that MS built into IE, do this:-
Click on START - RUN and type in REGEDIT, click OK
then the Registry Editor Opens,
Search on the left pane for the following key:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current_Version\Policies\Ratings

Delete an Entry named "Key" there and your parental Control is disabled..

Restart the computer and run Internet Explorer again.
Choose View and then Internet Options,
Click on the Content tab and click on Disable. When asked for a password, don't enter anything; just click on OK. This will disable Content Advisor because there's no longer a password.

Regards

Forgot content advisor password

From Start > Run type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, expand SOFTWARE, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, expand CurrentVersion, expand policies. Click on the Ratings folder to expose the Content Advisor registry keys. Highlight the key called Key and delete it either with your delete key or by right-clicking and choosing delete.
contentadvisor_regkey.gif Close Registry Editor. Close all instances of Internet Explorer. Open IE and choose Tools > Internet Options from the menu, selecting the Content tab for the Content Advisor. Click the Disable button. You will be required to enter a password in order to proceed.
