Citrix Access Essentials problem. Users can log into Web Interface but cannot launch programs. When I try to run the Quick Start the following error message appears: The licensing task counld not be created due to the following exception: The 'CitrixLicensing' service could not be found. An Alert appears under Licensing "Activate your Access Essentials Servers" but when I click on Licensing nothing happens

Try closing QB and restart the application. If that fails to fix issue try uninstalling/reinstalling the web connector.

Go to Start, run, type "sfc/scannow" within the command and follow the on-screen steps to go. This will automatically check and replace the missing, broken, corrupt system files. See if this fixes the problem.

If not, the problem generally lies with Windows Live Essentials. Goto the Control Panel, Add and Remove programs or Programs and Features: then locate and remove/uninstall Windows Live Essentials.

This problem may be caused by a number of reasons. However, the following are the most common:

The users credentials (the username and password) are not correct.
The user account may not have the right to log on to the computer interactively (the "Log On Locally" right). In some scenarios, the user account requires "Log On Locally" right.

Check the username and the password of the user to make sure that they are correct.
If this is correct, be sure the user has the "log on locally" right granted to it.

To verify user rights, do the following:
1. Open the Local Security Policy tool from the Administrative Tools folder.
2. Click Local Policies, click User Rights Assignment, and then click the Log On Locally user right.

If the user account or group that the user belongs to is not listed, then add it.

The Web server (running the Web site) thinks that the HTTP data stream sent by the client (e.g. your Web browser or our Check Up Down robot) was correct, but access to the URL resource requires user authentication 1) which has not yet been provided or 2) which has been provided but failed authorization tests.

This is commonly known as "HTTP Basic Authentication".
The actual authentication request expected from the client is defined in the HTTP protocol as the WWW-Authenticate header field. (Last updated: March 2012).

Generally this error message means you need to log on (enter a valid user ID and password) somewhere first.
If you have just entered these and then immediately see a 401 error, it means that one or both of your user ID and password were invalid for whatever reason (entered incorrectly, user ID suspended etc.).

Fixing 401 errors - general
Each Web Server manages user authentication in its own way.
A security officer (e.g. a Web Master) at the site typically decides which users are allowed to access the URL.

This person then uses Web server software to set up those users and their passwords.
So if you need to access the URL (or you forgot your user ID or password), only the security officer at that site can help you.

Refer any security issues direct to them.
If you think that the URL Web page *should* be accessible to all and sundry on the Internet, then a 401 message indicates a deeper problem.

The first thing you can do is check your URL via a Web browser.
This browser should be running on a computer to which you have never previously identified yourself in any way, and you should avoid authentication (passwords etc.) that you have used previously.

Ideally all this should be done over a completely different Internet connection to any you have used before (e.g. a different ISP dial-up connection). In short, you are trying to get the same behaviour a total stranger would get if they surfed the Internet to the Web page.

If this type of browser check indicates no authority problems, then it is possible that the Web server (or surrounding systems) have been configured to disallow certain patterns of HTTP traffic. In other words, HTTP communication from a well known Web browser is allowed, but automated communication from other systems is rejected with an 401 error code.

This is unusual, but may indicate a very defensive security policy around the Web server.

This error happens when the user does not have read / write access to a file called PDOXUSRS.NET. Earlier versions of Magicard ID (before V3.02) stored this file on the root of the C: drive. If running on Windows Vista, the file cannot be accessed. The last version released (V3.05) in 2008 will run on Vista (32 bit only). If you are running V3.05 already, and still see this error, search for 'PDOXUSRS.NET'. It is probably in 'C:\Program Files\Magicard-ID\data'. Check the permissions on the file you must have read / write access to it. Try logging on as local admin. ensure any users who run Magicard ID have read / write permissions to this file. Error "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error..." appears on launch

Problem:

When launching PDF Converter Professional 4, a Visual C++ error may occur which refers to autoupdate.exe.

Cause:

This issue may occur if there is a conflict with the Auto Update tool.

Solution:

In order to resolve this issue, we recommend using either of the following solutions:

Option 1 - Edit the system registry

1. Click on Start > Run.
2. Type "regedit".
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ScanSoft\PDF Professional 4.0\Config\
4. Click on AllowWebUpdateOnInit = 1
5. Change the 1 to a 0 (zero).
6. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ScanSoft\PDF Professional 4.0\Config\
7. Click on AllowWebUpdateOnInit = 1
8. Change the 1 to a 0 (zero).

Option 2 - Disable automatic updates.

1. Disconnect the network connections by doing the following:
   
   1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Network Connections.
   2. Choose each, right-click and chose "Disable".
2. Try to launch the program.
3. Disable the automatic update by clicking Help > Nuance on the Web and uncheck the Automatic Web Update entry.

This is a very common issue, don't worry you can fix it just using by few steps.

I am a Vista user and did have the same issue, so here what I did in order not to have this annoying error (I am not sure what action specifically did the trick):
1) Did it via Firefox (make sure you have the latest one);
2) Go to java.com and install the latest java update;
3) Go to gotomeeting.com->Login->re-install software->download manually and save g2m_download.exe file;
4) Now do Unblock and Apply in g2m_download.exe file property General tab;
5) Then Vista users need to disable UAC, I suppose this is the same as "Uncheck the “Protect my computer …”" (Go to "Control Panel" and type "UAC" into the search box. This will bring up the link: "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off." Click it. Uncheck the box next to "Use UAC to help protect my computer" then click OK. Restart.);
6) After restart right click on g2m_download.exe and "run as administrator".
