usually in a situation like this, unless there is any connection problems (which we hope there are, since they are cheaper to fix), then the problem would lie in the control board which is expensive which isn't a wild guess but I try to help a customer like yourself get the cheapest option of fixing the problem. In this case, it won't be cheap and probably not worth it as other problems are prone to come up as a tv ages.

volume button on your remote is stuck in the increase position. try another remote if possible or remove the remote batteries so you can atleast use the TV manually
Does your TV have a "half-mute" setting:
* press MUTE once to reduce the volume to 50%
* press MUTE a second time to reduce the volume to zero
* press MUTE a third time to restore the volume to 100%
I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my
remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and
pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I
used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I
stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast
again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I
tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power
button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I
decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been
perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem
started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of
having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not
turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my
remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while,
bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel
buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other
options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts
that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!
The font key switch panel is defective - (usually one of the switches has changed resistance) you can unplug the keypad and just use the remote. You can access the kepad thriough the back panel - but to remove the keypad you have to remove the chassis. Let me know if this helped.

You have to push and hold down TV and Mute button (for 2 seconds at the same time), then release them at the same time, then push channel up until the TV turns off. Be patient and continue channel up until the TV turns off. When it turns off, then push TV again to lock the code.
You were doing fine, but missed to push channel up to fine the code.
if you are using a cable box
make sure the cable box remote volume is also turned up
go into the customer menu on the tv and verify that the speakers are on
under the audio settings
Someone push the volume up button too hard and is stuck, this also has the micro(brain) confused, all this happen before you fund out your remote would not work.
Unplugging it for 8 hours does not reset it.
Do you know which ic is causing the problem
Is it worth while to get this repair or cheaper to buy new onw
I really didn't get any help just wild guesses
