My Mezzo MDW012 dishwasher stops when going to the 2nd phase of a cycle...It doesnt matter which cycle it does this on all of them

It's not too difficult to troubleshoot washing machine problems. When your washing machine won't spin, there could be a number of possible reasons, but all you have to do is find the right one. A drum that won't revolve and spin is one of the most common washing machine problems and in most instances, you'll be able to find the cause without spending money on a plumber. Once you've found the cause, you should also be able to manage the repair yourself to help keep repair costs down
1) Drive Belt.
2) Pump.
3) Lid Switch .
4) Drive Motor.a
5) Motor Coupler.
6) Clutch.
Note pleasefrom your explanation above it means that you have LID SWITCH PROBLEM

If the lid switch stops working, the washing machine won't spin. In fact, it won't work at all. To access the switch, you might need to remove the top of the machine. With the washing machine plugged in, depress the switch. It should click, but if it doesn't you'll need to replace it.

If you are asking because you see a little water left in the bottom, that is normal. Every d/w I have seen/worked on has some water in the bottom. This assists in priming the pump.

In which phase is stuck your dishwasher ?
Is it pre-wash phase, washing phase, rinse or drying phase ?

sound like wash heater failure if it doesnt reach wash temp it will jump back to beginning of heat phase,thats why you get a lot of foam heat will suppress this as part of the wash action.

It sounds like your main pump motor is either locked up, or may be partially shorted.

My dishwasher won't cycle. It gets stuck in one phase and won't progress into the next cycle. What should I look at?

The element that heats your water may be bad or the control panel(board) could be bad as well. If your machine is older than say 10 years old, it probably is the board. If you can, check the element by feeling to see if it is rusted through or has a rough feel to it in any particular area. The signal telling it to go into the rinse phase is an indication the the board is bad. Is it still under warranty?

when in the wash phase, listen for a low hum near the wash pump. if you hear this it indicates the wash pump capacitor is faulty or something jammed in the pump.after that you will have to access the wash pump and check if there is any supply to it
