I have an Ipaq 3950 that has a bad battery and SD card reader so I bought another 3950 to replace it. I cannot install my software because, I think, the PocketPC version is newer than what was in the old one. I have the original PocketPC disk. How do I remove the old version and install the new one? Thanks

It's obsolete this device (means zero support)
HP does not have books on it, now,
so how can you learn what to do?
the only way is at hp, we are not HP here, we are fixya,
no books here.

Yes , the Activesync connection is not reliable for large files. You really would be best to get a USB card reader, also it would be MUCH, MUCH faster.

Sounds like a potential problem with the SD card -- I'd try reformating the SD card and do another backup... If you still have the error, try another card...

Have you tried other SD cards?  The box is uncheck for default install folder?  Maybe update the device.

Your slot in the iPAQ is a SD slot, not a SDHC slot - therefore it will not read the card. Your PC card is probably a dual reader. The SD cards look the same but are different. Have a read of this...

yes, contact hp tech suppory,they should supply you with the correct program to reset the password via usb.

Try to restart it again. First remove the battery and then insert it again and power on the phone. If the problem persists then re-install the firmware.

Connecting my cam panasonic fz28 to my pc
To solve this problem, I bought an SD card reader.

All you have to do is plug your SDHC card into the reader, then plug the reader into your USB port, and you should be able to access your images/videos.

I have the same 8Gb SDHC 15 MB/s plus the same camera (FZ28) and it works perfect for me. - Doing it this way is much easier.

You can find SD card readers (Which will work also for SDHC cards) on ebay for a small price of around 2-3 pounds (£) at cheapest. - Just type in "SD Card Reader".

Dear Andy ,
its a common problem in3900 series iPAQ.
If the Secure Digital (SD) Card slot on your 3900 series iPAQ has stopped working this is the repair service you need, this process involves de-soldering the complete faulty SD socket from the iPAQ main board and a brand new SD card socket being re-soldered onto the iPAQ main board.

So please contact any authorised iPAQ Service center ,to fix this problem.
