Well if your tv is older like the one in the pic it sounds like the bulb is overheating, you may want to vacuum the dust out of the back and make sure it isn't got block of air flow in the back and also make sure it isn't up against a heat source

unplug tv for 10-15 min to reset....have you updated the vizio (if its less than 6 mos.no need to) ...this is free...you need a blank flash drive..you go to the vizio web site look up your model for the latest if any firmware out ..download it to flash drive...shut tv off (in this case its off)...plug in flash drive to tv (it will read the flash and update).......when finish the tv will come on like normal...

There is a slight possibility that the ballast is going out, because after a while you do get the image, and the Tv is not that old, which I'm guessing you haven't replaced the l;amp yet, because it's not even time to do it, unless you the Tv is on for a great amount of hours, if so replace the lamp first.

It is most deffinately a convergence chip issue. The die for no reason. They can be bought online for around $10 dollars and anyone with experience with soldering can replace them pretty easily. I have done it.

If it is the power LED that is flashing orange 2times every five seconds , it suggests that the Lamp Cover was not reinstalled correctly. Remove and reinstall it

What are you using to connect to the monitor? Have you tried replacing the cable, sometimes cheaper HDMI cables can cause this issue

No the DLP units can flash more than 8 times. 9 blinks mean Zero Crossing detector which means diode number D6166 or D6114 is open they are on the A board.Let me know if you need any further info.
