When I faxed a paper that has a blue ink signature and black text, the recipient received all of the black text but not the blue signature; does anyone know the fix for this (besides simply signing in black ink)? Mike Urbano, [email protected]
What kind of fax machine are you using? Is it a color fax machine, perhaps using a specific/dark ink blue pen, you can have the fax machine pick it up but I need to know the make and model to know what we are dealing with so please get back to me on this and I would be happy to help.
How light is the blue ink? Try using a very dark blue ink and see if that works. Also, what kind of fax machine are you sending to? Has this occurred with multiple receiving fax machines?
The fax machines that are receiving may also be only black and white and the blue may be showing up too light or something. It doesn't sound like a problem on your end, especially if it has worked before and since it copies fine. Like you said, better to be safe with black and not worry.
If you are satisfied with your experience here, then feel free to provide me with some feedback by
rating my solution. If you need any more help, I would be glad to
assist you, just ask.
Thanks for your time and service and I hope you have a Great Day!

It is just the nature of the ink. Probably the scanner is not picking up the ink. Can you give the make and model of the Fax machine, and we can try to troubleshoot further. Thanks.
Normally, signatures, etc signed by fountain pen ink are translucent, meaning that the light produced by the scanning engine just before faxing passes right through, without registering the signature. Ball point inks are relatively more opaque, and generally should come through in a fax, (irrespective whether it is blue ink or black..)
Yup, although the problem may not be at your end, you can never say for sure what your recipient's machine is like. Better safe than sorry, and use black ink at all times :)

Basically the fax paper is printed by inducing heat on the paper and it could be only black...
no inks are used in fax...
so it ll always be black

the machine is a Lexmark 9300 all in one
thanks; the machine is a Lexmark 9300 all in one; as for the scanner, I've never had problem with the blue ink in making perfect color copies; the problem occurs only when faxing
UNIBALL ROLLER GRIP "BLUE" FINE TIP
THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURED AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE; NOT SURE, BUT I THINK THE RECIPIENTS WERE DIFFERENT AND SO THE MACHINES WERE PROBABLY DIFFERENT TOO.
I GUESS THE SURE FIRE SOLUTION IS TO USE BLACK INK FOR SIGNATURES
