I just plugged a turntable into the accessory jacks on my Sharp XL-HP515 so that I can play some of my old LP's. I've got to turn the volume up all the way to hear it and it's still very quiet. Any idea...

If you're using an old-school turntable that doesn't contain a phono preamp that will happen.

A traditional turntable requires a Phono preamp inline with it to PRE amplify and frequency-balance the minute signal produced by it's cartridge for later amplification by a power amp. Most stereo receivers and preamps have Phono connections and internal preamplification strictly for that purpose.

Recent AV Receivers generally do not.

The result would be very low, tinny sound.

If so, you need to get an external Phono Preamplifier.

Some modern TT

Will not play , loud clicking noise. No lights nothing.

Ther clicking is probably coming from a relay and it is cycling because either the power supply itself or possibly an audio output power module has failed, the latter will overload the power supply so it tries to protect itself by interrupting either the AC or a DC voltage supplied by it.
This problem will likely require the hands-on of technical help.

CD problem in Sharp Micro Component Shelf system XL-HP515

Compra un disco limpiador de lentes laser y puede que esto solucione tu problema ya que puede ser solo suciedad en el lente.

Xl-hp515

wait a bit... it will happen with all the other decks, too. we had this happen and the first time the suggestion from the Sharp folks worked. We left the unit unplugged overnight to reset the electronics (and of course all the station presets, etc.) now, we have it happening again and all 5 drawers are out. the "read TOC" then report "no disk". i will try the lens cleaner but if that doesn't work, we will take it to a repair shop. our unit is actually almost 3 years old so it is past the extended two year warranty, but still it is too soon for it to be acting up. i hate cheaply made stuff like this! good luck.
