FAX with my Lexmark X1150

How do I set up my Lexmark X1150 to FAX scanned documents?
Would truly appreciate your advice...

There is no Fax built in to the Lexmark X3500-X4500 printer. You can use the Lexmark Imaging Studio software to scan documents and send them with fax.
See page 68 of the 3500-4500 Series User's Guide.
1 Load an original document facedown on the scanner glass.
2 From the desktop, double-click the Lexmark Imaging Studio icon.
3 From the left pane of the Welcome screen, click Fax.
4 Select the Document option.
5 Click Start.

Can the copy setting be defaulted to black and white document?

You can set it to B+W but it will revert to its default setting the next time you print.

Basic instructions for scaning on a lexmark x1150

Using your MSoffice Word (2003/7) you can simply create a New document and then go to Insert / Picture / From scanner or Camera
select TWAIN scanner and satrt scanning from PC (have your document in Lexmark scanner Tray in).
Accept or modify settings.
Resize or change properties of adquired picture
save the Word Document.

You can also use your Picture processing program (Paint or other)
Open Paint (or Other) Go to file /adquire/ select your scanning device Scan.

Try cleaning the print nozzles from the solution centre.

Scanning leaves a black area on document

Clean the scanner bed with a cloth if you still have the peoblem then unplug power and wait for 30 seconds and plug back and try to scan if you have the same problem then its hardware failure...........
