Replacing the DM module. I would like to know price for this part. And what does this part do for the tv in relation to the picture. Tv has constant transparent black/purple verticle shading - each about 6" wide. Side by side. Also - tv has, what I call scratch lines, all channels. they roll, and tilt -- really bad picture. But pic can be seen behind all of this. Sound is fine. Tv is 5 yo.To date - replaced 1 bulb, and these issues started about 2 months ago. TV repair person says dm module will fix it all. Is charging $500 to install. Thank you Mike

SOURCE: 5 mostly green verticle lines on all digitle channels. HD ok.

I just called customer support and my issue is now fixed, to my extreme surprise.

It sounds silly (and a tad embarrassing), but here's what I did:

1) Unplug the TV
2) Wait 30s
3) Plug the TV in
4) Test

Apparently even if the TV is "off" for a few days it never fully shuts down unless the power is unplugged. Not sure if this will help anyone else, but I had the exact same problem others are describing. Good luck!

See Here:

ehow.comreplace-bulb-panasonic-hdtv
as well as in your manual. Sometimes the lamp must be reseated
by removing it and reinstalling it with great care making certain
the door and all the gaps are closed tight.

If the lamp replacement or reinstallation does not solve the
problem you will likely need a service tech to look at the tv
as there are few user serviceable items for Plasma sets. Most
of the repairs are done by computer connection that downloads
the error messages and interprets what went wrong.

Hope this helps.

Where is the DM Module on a Mitsubishi WD-62528?

A few pieces of advice--the boards are sandwiched in the main signal chassis and not easy to get at.

If you have replaced those 4 in the actual power supply they do for some models sell the entire signal chassis (has almost everything except the optical light engine) for about 250 exchange.

Let me know what issues you have and I may have suggestions--this model has one very odd issue that is simple---picture gets so dark it is hard to see--not the lamp but easy to fix.

I've been told I need a DM module by a tv repair service who checked continuity in many of the components. What do I really need to fix it/ Can I order the parts myself? From whom? Can I install them?

The service manual is available from www.partstore.com
It is part number Part# 3828VD0222B for $2.95
Hopefully the entire DM Module would not need replacing. Hopefully just capacitors in the DM module need replacing and if that is the case part store has these in stock. Their phone number is 866-925-7278

Green power light keeps blinking

hi friend,
Repairing It Yourself
If you decide to repair the TV yourself, I recommend that you obtain a copy of the repair manual for your Mitsubishi TV from the Techlore website by going to Mitsubishi Service Manual. It will provide some direction, however it is technically written and may be difficult for the NOVICE to understand. If you are unable to locate the the service manual for your specific Model at the above Techlore link, you may need to purchase the service manual online at ServiceManuals.net.
If you decide to have a service technician do the repair, insist that the "DM" module is removed from the TV and ONLY the four 1000uF, 16V Capacitors (Caps) located on the DM Module are replaced. MOST techincians will INSIST on replacing the entire DM Module and not simply the capacitors. The cost is about $200 for a technician to replace the capacitors and $1000 for replacement of the DM Module. As you will read below, doing the repair yourself will cost less than $4.00 for the 4 Caps.
A Few "Cautions"
  1. Keep yourself "grounded" when working with the circuit board. Static electricity will destroy electronic components.
  2. When replacing the Capacitors, press them "down" onto the circuit board as far as they will go, hold them down, solder into place and clip the excess terminal lengths flush with solder. Only by doing this will the metal shield (little silver box) slide down and over the circuit board during re-assembly. There is not a lot of clearance when doing this, as the 105C Capacitors are slightly longer that the originals. With minimal effort everything does fit back together.
  3. Use ONLY 105º C capacitors with a voltage rating of 35 V.
  4. Re-insert the DM circuit board into the Mother board; press virmly and ensure a proper seat of the DM board. Next, slide the metal case down and over the DM circuit board. Refer to my "Lesson Learned."
Basic Troubleshooting
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.
  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.
  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.
  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.
  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.
  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:
  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.
hope this helps u

thank u for using fixya

Mitsubishi TV WD-52528 green flashing light

IF the lamp has already been tried here with a known good one....then...

Most like the "DM module" needs to be replaced. This is NOT a cheap repair and Mits KNOWS these sets are a problem. There is SOME possibility that the DM module, and possibly the formatter module too--could be repaired, about a 60% chance or so, by a decent tech...IF there is one in your area that will work on these sets. If you can get someone to check it out. ....have them chack for "bad capacitors" on ALL THREE of these modules::

The DM module.
The "formatter" module
The power supply.

Often--about 10 new caps on these three modules WILL fix the set. But it is a VERY time-consuming affair, as the modules are in a BUNCH of shields and such, so...figure on 3 hours of work, perhaps the tech removing the modules--or TV--from your house, and repairing the modules, and returning. A fair price to do this.... (if you don't have a service plan...if you do...someone SHOULD be willing to come out from warranty service and do this...) IF the modules can be re-capped--would be about 450-500, depending on the trip distance and such.

if the modules cannot be repaired /about 1in 3 times...and you have a warranty..and mits cannot supply new ones...you might just get a new set. This happened a NUMBER Of times last year, where I was at.

Flashing power light tv wont come on mitsubishi 1080

If the tv has the continuous flashing led, you have a DM board problem. It is likely bad capacitors in the DM module.. there are 4 of them 1000uf caps that will go bad. They will get a bulging top on them when they go bad. . Mits recommends replacing them with 680uf caps with a comprable or higher voltage rating. The DM module in on the left side of the set (viewed from the back) and is somewhat difficult to remove.

We have a Mitsubishi DLP and the timer light is flashing on and off and I cannot turn the power on or off on the TV

Bad signal board, DM module and or formatter board. Try replacing the signal board first. About 50% of my fixes with flashing timer LED was solved by signal board replacement. If this doesn't work, then try replacing the formatter board. And if still don't work, then DM module must be replaced.

Mitsubishi don't have a real answer behind these failures. I know and I've tried. Do have two of them just came in my possesion for repairs. One has same problem and just put in order for new signal module.

Mitsubishi ED-52631 does not turn on

Hello Getoxygen,

This sounds like a DM problem. To repair this you will have to replace 4 or 7 capacitors (1000uf 35v).
Here are the instructions. Depending on your set this may differ a bit, but the central theme is getting the DM free to be worked on.

This was taken from a TV repair site used by TV technicians.

STEP 1) The DM Module loose. But itcan't be rotate out because of the upper plastic guide.

STEP2) How the DM Module is rotated out of the TV case. Allow thewires
entering the DM Module to be an axis point of the rotation. That way they barely move and don't get snagged or stretched.

STEP3) The DM Module out and the side cover of the metal housing removed.

STEP 4) My setup to do the soldering work.

STEP5) Up Close of the daughter board and the seven capacitors on
MitsWS-55859.

STEP 6) The daughter board unscrewed and flippedover where you will be soldering.

STEP 7) The UpperPlastic Guide that must be removed to rotate the DM Module out of theTV set.

STEP 8) Get this wooden horizontal shelf out (4screws) and getting the upper plastic guide out becomes easy.

STEP9) Helpful Hint about the wooden shelf and the platic guide that bothneed to be removed.

Picture of bad caps

The DM board is the one with the digital connectors on the back panel. If you already have it appart, you may as well check the caps on all of the boards. The caps that go bad are typically Jamicon brand caps in 1000 uF and 330 uF values. There are also a couple of 3300 uF caps in the PS that cause problems.
