I have polycom 7000 with release version of 9.0.1 and second party having Polycom unit of 700 with release version now i am facing the poor video quality while connecting. Bandwidth at another end where polycom 700 is 1MB broadband connetion and I am having 4MB of link where polycom 7000 is installed when I check the statistics it is showing me the speed as 300kbps where polycom 7000 is installed and 154kbps where polycom 700 is installed. Please help me out in this scenario

This is not a dialing but trying to connect to the IP address setup in the system. Start editing the IP address giving the one that you would have already allocated to the device in the Router (i.e. 192.168.1.99) and then reboot it. It should connect then automatically.

You can use the hardware restore button on the Polycom HDX system to reset
the system in one of these ways:
• Restoring configuration-Restores the configuration, which resets most
system settings to default values.

• Factory restore-Completely erases the system and restores it to the
software version and default configuration stored in its factory partition.
If you follow this procedure while a USB storage device is connected, the
system restores from the USB device instead of the system's factory
partition.
The restore button is on the front of the Polycom HDX 9000 series system, as
shown in the following figure.





The restore button is on the front of the Polycom HDX 8000 series, Polycom
HDX 7000 series, and Polycom HDX 4000 systems, as shown in the following
figure.




The restore button is on the left side of the Polycom HDX 4500 system, behind
a wire mesh screen, as shown in the following figure.





Use a paperclip to press the restore button through the wire mesh covering
that side of the system. to reset the HDX Series system we can press the restore button over 15 second.

Here is the link for the PDF of the manual.  I would try every variation of holding the on/off button for several seconds and unplugging the machine for several minutes before re-plugging back in.

Try reseting the camera, power it down, wait 30 seconds then power it back up again.

Hopefully the problem was resolved. Call Polycom to see if it under warranty. Call me at 415.659-8178 if it is not. Maybe I can help. David

no the power supply is propreitory( has multiple voltages) & is not advisable, u could blow up ur expensive confeencing equipemt.polycom has designed it in that manner!!

The polycom didn't allow for numbers, only letters.....
How do I do password recovery in this case?

this looks like a power issue.replace/repair the power adapter before u send it for repairs to POLYCOM, they will charge u a BOMB

for VC over IP, both end should have a dedicated bandwidth with PUBLIC IP.
this solves most of the problems that are faced in a vpn or shared network like situation!!!!

You need to upgrade the code on your system. This happened to me and upgrading the code fixed it. Good luck!
