SOURCE: LG dishwasher wont clean top rack dishes
Recommend you remove the approximately 10 screws to pull the entire filter and manually clean. Remove all debris you find and thoroughly rinse out the filter if you can separate the top from the bottom. If the sump area is greasy, use a de-greasing spray to cut through it. Resemble, checking that there are no blockages in the holes on the spray arms.
Fill a bowl or cup with white vinegar and place it on the lower rack of the empty dishwasher. Do not add detergent. Run the quick cycle. The inside of the dishwasher should now be clean and not greasy. If still greasy, use the de-greasing spray (avaiable at all stores in the cleaning section.)
For 30 days, use only Electrosol or Cascade powder. Do NOT use gel or tablets, ever. Please report back your results. Good Luck!
ianc435 , please ask your question in as a new problem and I will help you out. I understand your problem.
SOURCE: LG will not service the LG 6810 dishwasher
When I have problems with a manufacter customer support line, I firmly but politely contact the agent, explan my problem and request quick resoution. The moment they say they are powerless to act, I imediatly request to be "escalated" to his manager. As soon as I get connected, I reqest dial in contact info directly to the escalation group. If he/she is unhelpful, I firmly and politely request to be escalated to the next higher manager.
In this case, it may be important to work through Home Depot customer service, trying as quickly as posible to get to the group that manages the LG relationship. Home Depot appears to be the organization that supplied the product that is unlabeled. These products are sometime called "Gray market" products.
Anyway, I have a similar LG product that is less than 1 year old. It was working great but all of a sudden it started to not clean well. I found undesolved, moist powder in the dispenser.
What I figured out was that I had switched DW detergent to a generic powder and the poor cleaning problems slowly showed up.
I had these white streaks runnind down from the dispenser on the stainless steel liner, too.
As soon as I switched back to a brand name powder (Electolux or Cascade) and did a white vinegar cleaning by filling a bowl full of white vinegar and placing it on the rack and running a quick cycle without adding detergent, my quiet and cool dishwasher came back!
I learned that these new, water conserving, energy effiecent models need an effective detergent that easily desolves and has minimal 'minerals' included in the powder. I also learned that you should always use a powder, never a gel or tablet.
Try my advice for a week or two. If problems persist, the next most common clearning problem is the heating element is not coming on during the wash.
Give these things a shot and please report back here. Good Luck!
SOURCE: Dishwasher not draining
Hi. this may be caused be several issue that i will discus below. Kindly read over the list that will describe several issue that may be apparent. replace any parts that corresponds to the issue you are having.
1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.
If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.
Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.
2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.
Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.
3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.
4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.
5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.
Replace the motor if defective.
6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
Hey Nicholas Coccovizzo
Unplug the dryer's 3-prong electrical cord from the power outlet.
Pull the dryer away from the wall and turn to one side to access the back of the appliance.
Remove the screws at the top of the dryer on the back panel.
Push the cover of the dryer from the front toward the back to disengage it from the cabinet, then lift the front of the cover up a few inches and toward the back at an angle.
Remove the two screws inside the front corners that attach the cover to the control panel. this will disconnect the cover from the front control panel.
Unplug the control panel from the wire plugs connected to the knobs and buttons. Set aside the control panel
Remove the two screws that were hidden underneath the control panel. These screws hold the top of the front cabinet in place.
Open the dryer door in the front of the appliance and remove the screws just below the slot for the lint screen, keeping one hand braced against the front of the cabinet to prevent it from falling forward. Removing these screws will detach the front cabinet from the sides, exposing the motor, dryer drum, belts and the blower for circulating hot air
Good Luck!
