Frigidaire stackable will not stop filling with water or agitate.

Washer is running over. I will check the hose to the water level switch. Could this also be the reason the washer will not agitate? Thanks , Doug

General Electric Washing Machine want agitate. The washer fills, spins, drains but simply stops agitating or washing during different cycles. I have checked the lid switch, coupling under the agitator and...

The water level switch may be going bad. As the water level rises to the proper level, it switches a set of contacts inside to stop the water fill and cause the machine to start agitation. Make sure machine is empty before you replace the water level switch---it works off of air pressure from a small hose attached to it.

Frigidaire washer (model number GLTF2940E) starts when you push the Start button. Water starts to fill in but then stops after 15 seconds. Please adivce.

If it starts to agitate after water stops filling check the pressure switch and hose. If it doesn't agitate check the supply hoses behind the machine make sure they are not kinked. If they look ok turn off supply valves and remove hoses from washer. They are connected to the watervalve. The valve has screens to catch lyme deposits and other debris. Use a toothbrush or spray bottle to flush debris clear. Reattach hoses carefully. Hand tight only and then a 1/4 turn more with pliers. Do not overtighten. Do not use teflon tape. Do not crossthread the connection. Turn supply valves back on to test. If problem persists watervalves may need replaced.

Ftf2140fs1 water fills up tub and over flows with door open when not using it

Hi Greg Meigs - If your washer will not stop filling up with water and overflows the tub, check for one of these problems:

1) Turn off the electricity to the washer. If the water *stopped* filling when power was disconnected, the problem would usually be in the control system of the machine. If the water still continues, then the plunger in the water valve is either stuck open or slow to close. Try turning the water faucets off and on a few times. This small joltmight unstick the water valve. If not, it will need replacing.

2) There could be a problem with the water level switch. Call in a professional.

3) There is a pressure switch hose that is attached to an air dome. This switch tells the washer that there is water in the tub and allows the agitator to start.

- Remove the control panel and you will notice a small hose. See if it popped off of the air dome. If it did, secure it with a zip tie.

If water flow continues, but drains out immediately, then raise the drain hose above the highest water level line of the tub. Do not seal the drain hose to the discharge pipe. This could cause a siphoning action.

Water runs through entire cycle until spin mode

Check the plastice hose going to the water level switch. It is pinched, or has a hole in it.
Repair or replace the plastic hose.

Frigidaire stackable will not stop filling with water or agitate.

is washer running over or just never filling? if running over suspect small hose to water level switch kinked off or a hole in it..if never filling suspect drain hose too low or no air gap between drain hose and stand pipe hose must catch air to break siphon

Water keeps running.......

i assume washer never starts running if not suspect water level switch or connection hose also be sure small hose to switch is not plugged or mashed flat even a small hole in hose may cause it not to get pressure to tell switch drum is full ..if washer does start running suspect bad water valve may not be shutting off
