if the door is not tight as in you can move it slightly when its closed, the door strike and door catch need replacing and can be done without dryer disassembly at the front door, open the dryer door and in the lower right hand corner theres a small plunger switch push this in with your finger you will hear a click, then start dryer with door open being careful, this test will rule out switch problem, then just replace door parts

Call Danby Customer Service at 1-800-263-2629; The part costs $25 or so plus another $7 shipping. Better than getting it through a distributor, I was given a price of $40 through a local place.
This could be caused by different things: Does it make a motor running sound when you try to dry, but the basket won't turn? If so, it's probably a broken or jumped belt, which would require a fairly extensive disassembly to repair.
But It can also be caused by the "door closed" interlock switch, located somewhere in the door frame area, usually activated by a pin-like or tab protrusion on the inside door facing. Make sure the door is fully closed. If still no go, try and locate the switch and actuate it externally with a toothpick/straw (or anything that approximates the protrusion on the door that normally works it) with the door open and try the start button again. Still no joy, jumper the switch terminals to bypass the switch and try again. If it goes now, then it is a bad door switch.
It could also be a bad start switch, bad motor, or bad connection in the wiring to the switches, timer, and motor. All of the above require some disassembly to get at the components, and a Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM) woul be invaluable in locating the fault.
Dryers are fairly simple devices compared to other things, but the addition of programmed features has made them a little more complex, but once the component functions ae understood, they are not difficult to diagnose and hopefully repair. The biggest obstacle is learning how and what order to disassemble to access the parts, and then get it back together again in a proper fashion.
Hoe this shed some light on your problem and gives you some ideas to try. Good luck!
I needed to replace my belt. I called the Danby Customer Service number 1-800-263-2629. I called early in the morning and got straight through. I received wonderful, prompt friendly service. The belt cost $25.19 plus postage and handling. Joe
