We installed the amp and bass package and the subs are not nowhere near *** powerful we think its the amp and when the remote bass switch when we turn it it doesnt change

What product brand did you install. do you set the amps x-over and gains a sub sonic filter right
need to see if the amp is on check led light on amp. make sure your subs ohm load is correct for the amp.

let us an example fake amp 500x2channel max output 1000watts

if you wire your subs at 4 ohms you 250x2 rms stereo
if you wire your subs at 2 ohms you 500x2 rms stereo
if you wire your subs at 4 ohm mono you get 1000 watts

if you have the input voltage of 14.4 all the time at the amp

whats the equipment power

Obviously you damaged more than just the fuses when you did the deed. Check out your power supply and amplifier output stages for damage(s).

Hi ya, due to my stupidity i managed to connect the positive and negative the wrong way round on my a2150hct amp, this blew all 3 25amp fuses in the amp, ive replaced these and the amp now turns on fine...

There could be any number of things wrong with your amp. Normally there are diodes that protect against this sort if thing however applying reverse polarity on capacitors, regulators and FETs can cause untold damage. You will need to trouble shoot the amp by measuring voltages around the power supply.

Subwoofer not getting max bass

try using a ohm meter and if its not making what the factory specs are its most likly it will keep loosing more and more power then stop working which is what ive had happen to me before

No bass in the sub

you could have a bad remote wire running to the amp or a bad remote circuit in your head unit, try connecting a small wire to the remote and jumper it to the power wire on the amp if this turns on the bass simply wire in a toggle switch and turn it off when you turn the car off so you dont drain the battery

Bass speaker start up noise

Hello anne845,

It sounds like the installer wired the amp remote turn-on terminal to an "accessory" lead in your vehicle. Many stock radios do not have a dedicated amp turn-or lead and the alternative is to connect the amp to a switched power source (ignition or accessory). This means the amp turns on whenever you turn on the vehicle ignition, often resulting in a thumping from the subs. It is a perfectly satisfactory alternative, and will not damage either the amp or the sub. But it's irritating.

If the thumping is objectionable, have your installer wire a SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) toggle switch inline with the turn-on wire. The switch should be mounted so it is accessible by the driver, and whenever you turn on the radio, turn on the toggle switch.

hi there mate, is the sub earthed? sometimes this might be the problem, also check that all the cables are correct in the amp, there should also be a switch on the amp to lower or increase the output, this maybe turned all the way off, the remote lead generaly is usualy the thin blue wire behind the head unit the best way to connect this to your amp remote wire is to simply go to your local halfords etc and get a little wire joining clip. then you can conect them. any other problems please ask

Is the master/slave switch set to master? Have you tried feeding the signal into a different amp to make sure that there is signal reaching the amp?

hi, first disconnect the rca input, then switch on headunit and if the amp produces a constant bass thump it then means it has an internal fault. if the amp idles quietly then replace the rca cable, or try connecting the headunit lineout feed directly to the bass amp, in this way you cud find out if your fault is coming from the headunit or the equaliser. cheers
