LG Shine Hey, I read that you know how to change the Message Alert tones. On my LG shine (CU 720) I have the option of 10 **** generic tones. I would like to use a ringtone. I was hoping you could lead my step by step on how you were able to chane the message alert tone. Your phone is probably on silent or you havent selected a tone for your text messages. Go to your tones,select a particular ringtone you want to use for your text mesages select "options" and select ''set as message alert tone" and select ok.
open 'profiles'. It will be inside ;menu' or 'settings' option. after selecting profiles, select 'personalize' and chose the new message alert tone from your gallary.... after that activate your profile.. your ringtone has been changed
halo i think you have to overite the message tone you wanted to have on the exixting ones.. i meant on the default tones.,,by that yu can use an mp3 file in yur message tone..
I contacted LG about the same thing. The only message tones are the 4 that are on the phone. This phone cannot use mp3's as message tones ot alarm tones.
you have to change the message tone not the ringtone for incoming calls. there should be a list of ten to chose from. you wont be able to download a new one.
Unfortunately you are set with ten assigned message tones. The only thing I don't like about the phone.
To get there though you must go to menu then settings then sound then message alert tones. I know its a bummer. There isn't even a way to make only the messages vibrate and be silent.
I think that there is just a generic message alert tone setting applies for both vm and text. If your voicemail alert tone and message alert tones are the same, this is probably the case. I have searched the menu on my phone and haven't found any setting to change vm tone specifically.
check out this tutorial on youtube it will allow you to set your own mp3's a ringtones and you should be able to do the same for message alerts.
