This sounds like a problem i had at the shop some time ago. If i got the right case history. this might be a bad tube. I Found in my case. it was the green tube.. also a shorted ic 7201 and a bad resistor 7301. It might be another tube. this might be other issues but without examing it this is my best guess :)

The screen shuts down after between 30 & 60 secs

This is an option for the TomTom. If you enter the Options, there should be something about Power Save features. In there, you will see options to shut off the screen, and you can have it do so after a certain time, once a certain speed is reached etc. Just change the time in which it turns itself off to never and you're fixed.

Full Color fading to blue then screen turns off. Repairable?

Here is what you need to do.

1.) You need to remove the entire plastic piece below the front of the screen. You most likely will find 3 screws on either side in back that you have to remove.

2.) The grill will not come out easy, pull from one side and then when it starts to come loose from the other side(there are several plastic pegs that hold it in.) Then from the bottom pull out( most of these sets have square plastic tabs at the top that tuck in.)

3.) With the grill removed locate the inspection plate behind it (it usually has 6 screws.) You will have to tilt the grill to the left and on its side as several cables are connected to it--they are held in place with trash bag like ties that you can release to get some room.

4.) With the inspection plate removed you will see a fairly small (about 3 inch square) BLACK PLASTIC BLOCK WITH SIX CONTROLS-usually they are marked with whiteout so someone can tell if they have been adjusted.

5.) You need to look very close at the block with a flashlight----usually the top three controls are FOCUS--don't touch those.
The lower three are usually marked Screen and if you look very close you will see b, g, r(blue green red)

6.)Usually the blue will be on the bottom left--it does vary

7.) Once you locate the BLUE screen control have the set on and turn it down--if the set is shutting down you may have only a few seconds to try to turn it down---usually to the left with the Blue Screen control.

8.) Best way to do this if the set is on is on a video input with nothing connected--you turn the blue down until the set stays on and then very slowly turn it up until you see a slightly blue screen with or without diagonal trace lines----if you get it to turn on this way turn the blue screen back down slowly until the blue screen and trace lines just disappear.

Let me know if you get it to work--Like I said if it is shutting down you may have to slowly turn the blue screen down a few times to get it to stay on.

I do this here for free and if this helps you at all give me a vote here--it costs you nothing.

Monitor turns on for less than a second, then off. I bought a 19" Samsung LCD monitor (953BW) about 10 months ago and the first time I used it, it would only switch on for a split second and shut down. ...

Although the OP was 2009. I had this problem.

I simply replaced the power board. Which I bought from ebay for $20AUD.
It was real easy to remove as well. Just have a look for youtube videos.

Fixed!

TV screen Flashes blue and then shuts off.

When it flashes blue, are the flashes bright blue lines going across the screen with the picture in the background, if so, It sounds like the Blue tube or blue driver circuit is breaking down after a short period of time. If this is the case, the uPC that controls the set is detecting a large current drain on and is shutting the set off for protection, An engineers expert eye is required I`m afraid. Ian.

Good Day, 6slimshandy9;

Try and look this;

Shuts down at turn on, LEDs D955 & D956 come on & turn off asap, the rest of the LEDs on power supply will go off slowly.
Cause: Found QEA6 (2315381) and QEA7(2315391) shorted in Blue CRT PWB.

I hope this was helpful, big IRISH. Or try unplugging the blue crt socket and if it turns off. If it stays on suspect bad CRT.

My tv too had a blue screen problem. Then it started to shut down after staying on for less than a minute.
