Blank lines across fax: if you get it when receive its from the sender but if when you send or make a copy you should clean properly the scanner unit with alcohol and cotton, its the trace of corrector liquid

A second line isn't needed, this wouldn't cause blank pages to be printed. This could cause fax's not to be received if the line is in use. There could be 2 causes of blank fax's. Either the obvious which is the person sending the fax is faxing the document the wrong way up. Or the fax board on your copier has a malfunction. Because of the copier's age, this seems likely, although i hope not. hope this helps.
You have white out or some other white substance blocking your scanner optics. I am assuming this is a thin blank line. What you need to do is make a copy of a document with your machine. You should see the very same blank line on your copy that your customer is seeing on their received fax. Now take this copy and place it in the document feeder the same way you placed the document when you made your copy. Now imagine this document going thru the feeder. The strip that is blank will "match up" with the white out or whatever is causing the blank line. You just need to open up the feeder section where the documents go in to be scanned and look for the thin strip of glass that runs from one side to the other. Using the copy you made with the blank line, use it to see exactly where the glass should have something stuck to it and clean it off with a soft clotch with a little glass cleaner on it. Go ahead and clean the while glass while you are in there. Once clean you can close it back up and run another copy to insure that all the lines are gone.

Pop open the fax document feeder, and look for a glass strip about 1cm wide, that runs from left to right across the machine. You will probably see a few spots of dirt, or more commonly, a blob of white liquid paper stuck on the glass, on the side of the machine that corresponds to the black lines on your fax. Clean this glass strip gently, using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent. I often use diluted windex. You may need to scrape liquid paper gently with your fingernail. Close the cover.
Next, put a blank sheet into the feeder and make a copy of the blank page. If you have cleaned it properly, the copy will be blank as well. If you still have a line, align it with the feeder and use this as a guide to show you where the glass may still have some **** stuck on it.
It's important to gently move the toner cartridge from side to side to distribute the toner evenly through the cartridge. This could be causing your blank lines. Also, clean the Corona wire when installing a new toner cartridge. Best of luck.

The machine told you poor line quality. Try a different phone line to verify. Try it at a friends house to verify it. If you are using Vonage, that is the problem. I have Vonage and every fax I test with has some issues with poor line.
