I am using the Canon Pixma ip4200 inkjet printer and am trying to send the document for printing from my laptop. The printer is making some sounds like it is trying to pull the paper, however, the paper doesn't get pulled. The paper (A4 size plain paper) is not feeding through into the printer. Please help.

The setting isn't on your printer, its in windows.
The next time you print, instead of just clicking "Ok" to send the document to the printer, click "properties." this will look different depending on your OS and whether or not you have printer software installed so I can't give you step by steps but there should be an option here to either set the printing defaults to greyscale or just a straight up black/white dropdown/checkbox. save that as default and you are done.
the colors transfer to the printhead by gravity. the felt on the inktank must make intimate contact with the stainless steel filter in the printhead. I have a pixma ip 6000D that I had to replace the printhead inside of two years three times. the bubblejet circuitry in the printhead got burned out. New heads cost from $55 to over a hundred.
