Samsung SyncMaster 214T flickers

Flickering or wavy picture is a very common symptom of failing capacitors in the power supply board. This is a very easy repair, it just requires replacing the 6 capacitors on the power supply board. Flashing or flickering is a common indication of failing capacitors in the power supply board. The fix is very simple and just requires replacing 5 capacitors on the board. Faulty power supply most likley, extended warranty?

A flickering display usually indicated a failing power supply. Check out our web site at www.ccl-la.com We have a free step by step repair guide for the 214t that will show you how to open the case. Once inside look at the power supply for parts called capacitors. The tops should be perfectly flat and I would bet your have bulges which indicate they are damaged. If you find bad caps and them replace them you should be back going without any flickering. Many LCD monitors will have issues after 2-3 years of use. Check cable plug, conent it properly

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of the monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix the problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts,replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should workfine.We just posted a repair guide showing how to remove the case ansreplace the parts. The capacitors do need to be installed with thecorrect + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping.

Replaced all those caps (not hte big on in the primary circuts) with PANSONIC FM or FC series from DIGKEY.COM

Yes,

A flickering screen indicates the power supply is not properly filtering the output power. This happens when the capacitors on the power board start failing.
