Lexmark E238 prints about two thirds of a page and stops

Had a paper jam. After clearing paper jam can only print about two thirds of a page and the paper stops. Paper jam warning light is on. However can pull page out the back of the printer. No apparent paper jam. Power off and on to clear error condition, and can again print about two thirds of a page. Always fails at same point on the page. Before paper jam never had problem. Concern that something broke causing jam or broke something clearing jam.

I got the following more helpful response from Parts Now: "It sounds like you may have an input sensor that is not actuating correctly I would look at input sensor #1 and see if it is moving correctly. It could be a bad sensor that # is 40X1323. In a worst case it could be a system board # 40X1305."

I have a lexmark e238. Keeps showing paper jam light after cleaning rollers even though no paper is in there.

Either paper is moving too slow through the paper path or one of your paper path sensors is not registering. Pull the paper tray out and check to make sure the little plastic sensor is swinging free. That sensor tells when the tray is empty. Follow the paper path thru the printer checking all the sensors to make sure they are "opening" and "closing".

My lexmark E340 printer displays the message: "remove cartridge paper jam" continuously and not print more pages

There is probably a sensor that is being blocked by paper that you might not be able to see easily. Remove cartridge and check the inside of the printer with a flashlight. Please turn off printer before doing this.

4TH LIGHT FROM THE TOP KEEPS COMING ON LEXMARK E232

What this light sequence means that the printer has a paper jam.

When a paper jam occurs, the printer stops and the operator panel's Paper Jam light and Continue button lights come on. Press and release Continue twice quickly to display the specific secondary error paper jam light sequence.

How to clear Paper Jam

Press Continue button twice quickly to see the secondary error code.

To get the secondary error codes

When the Error light (!) and Continue button lights are both on, a secondary error has occurred.

When the Paper Jam light (4th light) and Continue button lights are both on, a paper jam secondary error has occurred.

Press and release Continue button twice quickly to display the secondary error code light sequence.

Press Continue button to resume printing once all the jammed pages are cleared from the paper path.

We recommend that you clear the entire paper path when a paper jam occurs.

To clear a paper jam:

1 If you are feeding paper from a tray, remove the tray, and then remove any jams.

2 Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

NOTE: Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light for an Extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems.

3 Remove any jams in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

4 Lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any jams beneath the flap.

5 Open the rear exit and remove any jams.

6 After you have cleared the jams, reinstall the print cartridge assembly, make sure all printer covers and trays are closed, and then press Continue button to resume printing.

NOTE: The printer reprints the pages that caused the paper jam.

That indicates that you have a paper jam in the printer. You can refer to this Quick Reference: http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/e238/eng/qref.pdf. Here's an article in the Lexmark website on How to Clear Paper Jams on a Lexmark E238, E240, E240n, E340, E342n Printer. Click on this link: http://bit.ly/dbahOF. Just read the article thoroughly. Lexmark E 342 n paper jam with error code 201

According to the LexMark support page, this is most often related to not getting the print cartridge assembly properly positioned. (Left and right sides not fully in place). Another possible source is paper in the output tray when using the double sided printing feature. (This leads to grabbing an extra sheet when it tries to retrieve the paper to print the second side. Paper stock thickness will change the number of pages printed before this happens.).

I hope this helps.

Lexmark E238 paper jam

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

LEXMARK E238

I know this has been on here for awhile but i decided to help

First of all the lights are listed in the user manual for the printer. From what your described the problem looks like it is a paper jam

for more information in regards to the lights on your printer:
http://www.fixya.com/support/p306850-lexmark_e232_laser_printer/manual-867/page-52

There is also information on how to get the jam out. If the printer has no jam but the light is still on try restarting the printer.

Lexmark E238 Prints Garbled Text/Font

Check that WP is using the same driver and the printer is called exactly the same as it is for Word.
Make sure that the port assignments etc are the same and that you install all printers via Windows, not in a program.
