Asko T721 dryer. Support rollers started to fall to bits (dryer making bumping sound as it rotated) so I bought a new set and replaced them. Not a single electrical connection was removed bar the door switch wires .... and now it won't run? The power light comes on but no action at all when start button pressed? I have checked the thermal reset at back (wasn't popped) and also looked for fuses but my model has solenoid type circuit breakers and these look fine. Dryer was functioning perfectly (bar noisy rollers) prior to disassembly, no wires removed, have checked all connections pushed on securely etc... Any idea's on what could be wrong?

  • If you took the drum out and took the belt off you may have put the belt on wrong as there is a switch under the drive or idler pulley that must be pushed on from the pressure of the belt on the pulley. Also go and make sure both breakers are ok in the breaker box as it runs on a 220 volt sys. and if one is tripped this type of thing can occur.
  • Good luck and please rate me if this helped! thanks again for choosing fixya

My Asko dryer is thumping loudly. I am finding bits of rubber when the lower panel is removed.

You need to have your drum rollers replaced, they are making the noise because they are falling apart.
Also it could be or include the drum belt breaking down and falling apart...which means its about to break.
Normally pretty cheap parts can be found on the net...look around.
Its a pretty easy fix.

My asko T721 dryer won't start. If I hold the start button down it will work, but the second I let go of it the dryer stops. It was running fine yesterday and then it stopped and now I can't get it...

the start button is bad. you will have to get it replaced take the model and serial# and go to your local appliance part store and they should have one.

Overheat trips Asko T721 dryer

If you have a condensate tank that fills up too much the float inside the pump housing will shut the dryer off also.

Hi, The dryer drum does not start when the start button is pushed unless I rotate the drum to a specific position.

When we had this problem the solution was to replace the motor, the electric coil in the motor had a flat spot which would not make contact and let the motor start. By moving the drum you are advancing the motor away from the flat spot. Hope this helps.

ASKO t700 dryer thumping sound

usually whin you get one thump (or a quick double thump) you have a dent in the roller surface of the drum itself. Easiest way to check this is to unplug the unit and take the top off by removing the 3 torx screws in the rear, then lifting the top off. Once the top is off look at the very front edge of the drum as you rotate the whole thing by hand. If you see any irregularities on the surface, thats your problem. If you see nothing it could be a bad motor or roller, but its unlikely if its happening in the same place on the rotation evry time. What has usually happened with dents in the surface of the drum is that the unit was set down too hard (or dropped) and the wheels it rests on dented the metal they ride on. If thats the case the only solution is to replace the drum or live with it .Good Luck!
