hi, what you can do is take out the battery and remove the sim card because it may be have been placed incorrectly and then make sure its in properly and place the battery back inm the phone and turn it on. it should work.
The volume control buttons on the left side of the main screen are probably stuck. Try fiddling with it until it comes loose and you should be all set.
