Power will not come on

Can't get the monitor to come on after a power failure.

Thanks for the reply Jaime, I always thought I would be o.k because I am hooked into an APC surge protector - Now I wonder what difference does it make whether you have a surge protector or not.

Any suggestions on a new monitor or can this one be repaired - Later Paul

Thanks for the reply Jaime. I always thought that suing a surge protector would avoid this. I guess I was wrong. What differnece does it make whether a surge protector is used or not. The one I have is APC surge arrest (personal) -

Can my monitor be repaired and/or do you have a suggestion ona new monitor.

    Later

If the power supply failed after a power failure is not a good sign because when the power came back it was higher then 120 VAC and could have damaged the microprocessor. Most of today power supplies are not well regulated and a slight increase on the 120 VAC it will also increase in the power supply, giving more power then needed.
It could have damage the power module as well.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

No display on power, 2 lights blinking after a 15 sec or so, it shuts down automatically. Can anyone help thanks

Its a no post issue. The computer must be making some beep sounds, disconnect everything thing from the computer except for keyboard, mouse, power and monitor. then try, if still doesn't work then you are looking at an internal hardware failure.
Thanks. If this was helpful, then kindly rate me.

Microtek 715c power supply requirements. I found this monitor by the curb and gave it a 17.5 vdc switched power supply. It works quite well except the power light goes blank while asleep and acts like...

SuperWarehouse.com just says it requires anywhere from 110-240 volts AC (which isn't very specific) and uses 48 watts. I don't see anywhere online that lists the DC power output... sorry. If you could get a manual for it that might help.

Can't get any signal, or watch dvd's. Everything is plugged in and working a few hours ago; when I got back home, nothing's working

jiwurster, If your unit seems to have a "black" lcd screen, then you may want to read a testimonial in my fixya profile. Your unit may also have bad electrolytic filter capacitors on it's "switch-mode-power-supply" circuit board. Check your board visually for swollen/leaky "CapXon" brand electrolytic filter capacitors. If not into doing inspection, you will need to contract out the work. Just do some reading here on fixya in the profiles of "budmrtn" "buddymc" "12fixlouie" The problem (poor quality/infantile failure) of CapXon filter capacitors is also rampant in the CCFL-back-lit-lcd monitor industry affecting nearly all brands of monitors. Hope to see reply from you after you do the investigation and pay a visit to YOUTUBE to see video clips of owners/technicians who have successfully refurbished their power supplies inside of the lcd monitor or lcd tv. I'm 12fixlouie on fixya or lmistyrel on aim Hope to to see reply from you.

My Dell 1905FP LCD monitor Power light blink on startup

Hello,

This is a classic symptom of filter capacitor failure on the power supply board. The Dell 1905FP and 1907FP both use the same power supply and this type of failure is very common. You can repair the unit by replacing the filter capacitors on the power supply board. Here is a picture of the board with the problem capacitors circled and below is a link to a repair guide for this series monitor.
