There are universal remotes that seem to be able to operate almost anything, available at stores, but I don't know how much you would save over the $40 original... The Universal remote could be used with a new TV when you replace this one, though.
You did not remark which make and model TV you are referring to, but most universal remotes can control most multiple devices: TV, VCR, DVD, Stereo, Satellite Box, etc. I would suggest getting one of these as buying an original remote would most likely be a lot more expensive. These remotes include instructions and program codes to enter for programming all your devices.
The only remote that works is the one 4 all.
Call ONE 4 ALL for the right model number. They then can program the remote on the phone to operate the SVA tv. It worked for me until the set died this week. Guess why I am looking on this site.
