There is no MODE button on this watch. It is a Seiko 7T62 chronograph watch.

Mcdevito75 here, It may not be called MODE, as each watch is different, simply go thru your settings until you reach alarm or set a time on the alarm.

  • pete776 Oct 11, 2010

I set it, it doesnt ring.

mcdevito75 here, If it was working before the battery change, you"ll have to double check your battery installation, also check that all button contacts are being made from the button itself to the movement, use a Qtip to clean all contacts as oil from your fingers could make a bad contact. also, if there is a seperate battery for the alarm as some watches have you may also have to replace that battery. Last but not least, your NEW battery could be weak right out of the package, who knows how long it was in the store or warehouse. Sorry for your troubles but welcome to the world of watches. One more thing, the alarm sounds from a speaker like device just under the back cover, double check everything for proper placement and go slow, don"t loose patience, take a break and return to your watch. Hope all works out.

How to set on the alarm on a seiko D 409 5030 silver wave

Here are instructions for the watch as a .jpg file...if you press both the "C" and "D" buttons ( refer the attached pic) at the same time you should hear the alarm ring. If it does not it will possibly need checking by a Seiko repair centre ( possibly no parts available though due to age)
Cheers
