I've had my garmin for 2 months,I brought it to best - buy to see if they could fix it the screen had black & white blotches . You could hear directions but no road map, the fellow who helped me said it was cracked wanted to know if I dropped it and I said no. It seems that you have a virus and it is running at boot.
first try to boot in safe mode and see if the computer stay up.
"Restart... hold the f8 key down until you see the boot option menu and select: "Safe Mode with Networking"If your pc still shut off and freezes then is not a virus and it is a hardware issue, possibly power issue or heating issue with the CPU.If it is ok in safe mode, then you need to remove the virus in safe mode. Download antivirus program that support safe mode operation.after successful removal of the viruses, reboot in normal mode and edit your msconfig, to remove any running programs that might be viruses.

First, using B & W to copy a photo will cause large black blotches.

B & W are actually made up of shades of Black. To get the best quality for a B & W photo, switch to "Grayscale"

Next, is the black cartridge full? Are you using any type of refilled (absolutely worst possible choice) or a third party cartridge (second worst possible choice).

sounds like your pixels are dying, there's really not much to doo other than have professionals looking at it.

It sounds like your light engine is on it way out. I would have this verified by a service center. Very costly to replace. They will probably try a new lamp first.

I had the same issue with mine during a trip. Probably needs to bereset. See page 31 of the users manual on Resetting your c340. Once Idid this it worked fine.

A big black mark (often looks like an ink blotch) on a mostly white screen usually means that the screen was somehow damaged/broken. The Dash is a rather good device; however, it's been known to experience cracked (inner) screen issues on a slightly more frequent basis than other comparable mobile devices.

The company that I work for sees this issue a few times a month with the Dash, and unfortunately it's just a matter of replacing it at this point.

Yes there is. Unless there is a systems mode to turn the reception to PAL, you will not be able to use this set there. Good Luck
