The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use a photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer for Apple iPhoto.

I want to upload my pics from my Coolpix L110 camera to my macbook pro. I've downloaded the Nikon transfer and View NX software suite but when I connect the camera via USB chord my computer doesn't detect...

Pros avoid this problem by using a card reader and downloading to a folder they create on their desktop. From there, the pics can be imported to the program of your choice.

Can see pictures on camera and in file when connected to my macbook (running osx leopard), but cannot transfer 700 pictures from my camera to my macbook. i was in the process of transferring about 1200...

you just mite have no more room on your macbook. if you do then it also could be that the files are protected or cant be read by the system. try to open up the files on your memory stick and copy and past or drag and drop see if that dose any different effect.

Hi,
You can get Macintosh software and drivers from Sony support here >>>>>>>>

Don't forget you will need a compatible USB camera to computer cable to transfer the pics to the Mac.

Transferring pics

Have you taken new pictures with the device, or are these already possibly transferred to your system/PC? If they are already on your PC, it will not add them again (to save you space).
If you chose transfer all, what do you get as a result? Check the log for help.
