I'm unable to find a driver for the monitor, I checked the gateway website and theres very little information about the monitor and nothing showed up when I used the s/n on the back of the monitor. I really want to change the resolution because it's currently on a crappy setting, any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: New monitor but unable to use its maximum resolution settings

no, there's nothing wrong with either your graphics card & monitor.. it just that your graphics card does not support a 1680x1050 resolution. if you want to fully enjoy the resolution of your monitor, you should upgrade your graphics card. purchase at least 256mb graphics card and you will see the difference..

Mac's a bit differant than windows. To change your screen resolution first change the monitors refresh rate to something like 75 hertz. Than you can change the Screen resolution. Thats how it is done on a windows machine. Than again your Mac might need a video card software update.

SOURCE: I need a driver for gateway 17 in. wide screen monitor FPD1775W

You might want to consider a default settings reset. To refresh or reset the monitor back to default settings, unplug the monitor's power cord, and then press the the power button for five (5) seconds to drain any residual power. Plug in and then turn on the monitor. The default settings load.

Additional information about your monitor is available on the Gateway support website.

SOURCE: My screen resolution is not like it's supposed to be.

The native resolution of you monitor is 1440x900. If you previously had it set at a lower resolution (say 1280 x 720) the text would appear larger than it does now. You can change the appearance of internet explorer by using the Zoom function (Ctrl +).

If 2 monitors are showing the same picture, your graphics card is at fault.

First, Click on my computer - device manager - check there are no alarms shown by the devices in your pc especially the graphics card.

If none, RMB click on your graphics card, select properties and choose the "Roll back Driver" option.

Second, look on the Gateway website, follow links for support/downloads check that you have the latest driver for your graphics card. Also note the make, model and type of your graphics card. You'll need these if it has to be replaced.

If both have been completed, then your graphics card probably needs replacing. I'd try ebay first for a good second hand. You could take this opportunity to upgrade, just make sure you buy on with the correct interface.

Hi,
First step is to test and see if it's your monitor or PC that is giving the problem. Plug the screen to a laptop and switch on presentation mode. If nothing shows up, try replacing your monitor (VGA) cable as you mentioned that the gateway logo still shows when you power on, indicating that the monitor somewhat works. The cable looks like this:

If monitor works on the other PC/laptop, proceed to check the video card of existing PC. Update driver and remount the graphic card to see if it helps.

Gateway GT4016 boots but nothing shows on the monitor

Without more specific information it is hard to tell. Did you just buy a new video card? Is it the the right type? Where did you get the second card? Have you tried it in another PC or talked to the store you got it from? Maybe the source can test it. Your PC can take an optional PCI express x16. Make sure you are using the right display adapter expansion slot. Note: PCI-e is not the same as PCI-X. They are not compatible. You want PCI-e.

I have a Gateway FPD2185W monitor with a NVIDIA Gforce 9800 GT. Software was delivered with this monitor to suppor the Pivit features. I have had a few problems with IE since that time, but nothing I could...

The Pivot software is part of the EzTune application. When you installed EzTune, it automatically configured itself with your currently installed drivers. When you update your video drivers, Pivot must reconfigure itself. This is normal operation.

EzTune version 1.4 and later is compatible with Windows Vista.
The latest version of EzTune can be downloaded from the following Web site.

Hope that helps...

How do you scan from a HP printer to a Gateway One ZX4000, using the Gateway scanner?

You would need to install a scanner driver corresponding to the exact model HP device you are using. The HP website has a search function to locate the necessary software. Without a driver, the scanner will not work. I was a little confused by the wording of the question. But I think this should get you what you need.
