Hi my Samsung R530 will not turn on. I have the charger in and the battery is charged to 40% and the orange light is on to say that it is charging. I press the on button and nothing is happening, please...

Hi danielgardha,

I see that you are experiencing issues with your Laptop, you mentioned that the battery has %40 charge and that the adapter is plugged in on the laptop to the wall but still you get an orange light, but when you press the power button nothing happens on the machine.

  • Remove the battery and the adapter from the Laptop then press and hold down the power button, this is to drain power from the motherboard.
  • Once the power has been drained from the Laptop, connect the adapter back again but leave the battery out of the machine, then turn the system ON using the Adapter only.
  • If the Laptop turns ON using the adapter only then it is possible something is wrong with either the Battery or the motherboard of the Laptop.
  • Turn the Laptop OFF again then put the battery back in, then power the system again check if it will turn on with the battery and adapter in the Laptop.
  • If the Laptop does not turn ON when the battery is plugged in then you will need to have the system checked for a motherboard issue.
I hope that this will help.

Panisonic toughbook cf27 wont turn on

Hi, Try disconnecting the power completely and also take the battery out then wait for a minute then put the battery back in then the adapter and give it a try.... if still no luck try again while looking at the indecator lights and see if any light flashes... also sometime the power plug gets loose inside. or the power adapter dies... I would try gently weglling the power plug while looking at the lights if anything happen then it is the plug. if nothing then I would try to test the adapter either by a multimeter or borrowing another adapter and seeing what happend... if still nothing then it is the main board itself... best of luck

Put wrong power adapter into a Yamaha DTXPRESS IV

You should immediately quarantine what you plugged in and compare it to the correct one.

IF you put too low aq voltage of the CORRECT polarity nothing should have happened.

If you put backwards polarity of any voltage the regulator is probably fried internally and possibly an input bypass cap. Also if you put an AC adapter and it wants a DC the same destruction could happen.

if you put too high a voltage, possibly the power input cap may be bad.

It appears that the correct supply is the PA3C which is a 12 volt, 700ma with positive on the center pin.

Not likely; probably fried the motherboard's power supply.
Given the expense of purchasing/installing a new motherboard you may want to consider a new laptop.

First follow procedure to try to reset the power.
  1. Unplug the ac adapter. Keep ac adapter unplugged.
  2. Remove the battery and keep the battery unplugged.
  3. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds. (Nothing will appear on the display and none of the lights will light up.)
  4. Release the power button and plug in the ac adapter ONLY. (Please note that a power indicator light should be lit on the ac adapter when it is plugged in).
  5. Normally power on the notebook.
  6. If the unit does not power on, remove the ac adapter and insert the battery into the system.
  7. Plug the ac adapter back into the system, the battery charging indicator light will light up.
If the battery charging indicator light does not light up, the ac adapter may not be providing proper power to the unit, and may need to be replaced.

Solution
If the notebook does not power on:

Make sure the ac adapter is correctly plugged into the notebook and into the power cord.

If everything is plugged in correctly and it still will not power on, follow these steps to complete a ‘power reset' of the notebook.
Also, depending on whether your power went down "clean" (quick and stayed off), or went down and quickly came back on and off many times. Or when it came back on "clean" (came back on quick and stayed on), or it came on then off many times, your power supply may have been damaged from the power surges Are you having any problems with any other appliances?

Does not work

I believe what happened is that when the wrong adapter was connected it damaged some of the electronics inside. Specifically I would guess some filtering capacitors. You would need to open it to fix it. If you need the data I would think that the drive inside would still work so you could take it out and get the data off of it. Otherwise I would see about sending it back for warranty replacement.
