Phone memory & Active sync problems

Hi,
1.) I've recently been experiencing problems syncing my phone to my computer via usb. It recognizes the device, but then says that it was unable to connect and signs me onto active sync as a guest user. Why would I be experiencing these problems when I never had them before?????
Someone please help me, very frustrated because 2.) My phone is running super low on memory and I'm unable to sync to my computer and will lose all my data once I master reset.

I've since realized what one of the problems with my phone could be. By some strange reason I accidentally locked or denied access to my media files and don't know how to unlock or undeny so that I'm able to send, receive, and play my music and even sync it with the computer. Does anyone know how I could possibly fix that problem?

1. Not sure why its not syncing. You may try uninstalling active sync from your computer and reinstalling.
2. Get another memory card and put the files on there, or get a card reader and transfer them to your computer.
Uninstall any unnecessary programs from the phone to free up space.

Setting up HTC Sync to recognize your phone

After installing, set up HTC Sync to recognize your phone.

1. From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync.

2. On the Connect to PC screen on your phone, tap HTC Sync and then tap Done. Your phone attempts to find HTC Sync on your computer. Wait for a few seconds for the process to finish.

3. If your phone displays a message indicating that it's unable to find HTC Sync, try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable, and then repeat step 2.

4. When the Phone Connection Wizard is displayed on your computer, click Next.
Enter the name you want for your phone, and then click Finish.

Check the HTC Sync icon at the bottom-right side of your computer screen. If it appears green in color, that means your phone has successfully connected with your computer and HTC Sync recognizes your phone

I have spent hours trying to transfer music from my pc to w995. I transfer my music to the sync list, try to sync, and get a message in the sync list that the tracks "did not fit on device". I have 5 gb of...

I can tel you some other way to transfer music files into your phone instead of doin sync. Connect your phone to PC via USB. Now your phone will ask to select on eoption. Select Mass Storage. Now you click my computer in your PC & select memory stick drive there. this is a direct access into your phone memory stick. Select the music file you want & copy paste it into music folder in your memory stick.

Can't sync my P1i

If you experience problems when using the USB cable during synchronisation:
  1. Check that the USB cable is properly connected to the phone and the computer.
  2. Make sure the phone is turned on.
  3. Restart the computer, without disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the phone, and try to synchronise again.
  4. If you still experience problems using synchronisation software, e.g. Sony Ericsson PC Suite or Active Sync, try to uninstall and reinstall the program you are using.

this might be the case. if not enable active sync on phne
good luck

Ipaq 4700 active sync problems

i can try to help you , first are you using xp or vista ? and which version of active sync ? i found that after upgrading to active sync v4.5 my ipaq 4700 refused to sync , i have xp home , so by trial and error i learned several things , i tryed my usb cable in every usb slot i had , only to find some usb ports are more friendly to certain devices , for a lack of better terms , i deleted all partnerships in active sync , found that i needed to make sure active sync is not running on ipaq , go to settings / memory / running programs on the ipaq , stop all running programs , turn the ipaq off , then on the pc made sure firewall not locked , plug usb cable into pc , i leave mine in a port permanently , plug into the ipaq , it automatically turns the ipaq on , then i see 2 icons in pc system subtray start blinking , at that point i know sync is going to work , then active sync icon starts turning , lit up in green , and asks do you want to create a partnership , yes , follow prompts , and thats what has been working for me , now if i was to put the usb cable into a different port , no doubt it would give me grief , and the same thing with my phone and active sync , make sure active sync is not running on the device , sometimes i have to reset the unit , ipaq or phone , make sure unit is turned off them make the connection , give it a try .

Connecting to pc

make sure you've loaded the software the phone came with onto the host pc (fully loaded it, and go through the "configuration" routine it asks you to complete after installing the activesync software). That should fix your problem. Incidentally tho, i've connected my phone via usb cable to pc's that did NOT have the active sync software installed, and those pc's still recognized the phone as a removable drive (without the syncing capability). You can still install applications and syncronize files manually so long as the host pc sees it as a removable drive tho (although it takes a tad bit more technical knowledge, such as file paths and the like)
