I just bought a thermal receipt printer EPSON TM-300PD from ebay. There is no interface cable in the box. The printer works when I connect the power supply. I now want to connect it to my laptop, which interface cable should I buy and from where?? Thanks

Well according to EPSON the ways you can connect your printer to a computer are RS-232C, IEEE 1284 parallel; RS-485; high-speed USB; 10/100Base-T/TX; wireless. However the way they get you is you have to buy the interface from them. Contact EPSON and see what the cheapest one is. If you're only using it from one computer just a simple parallel cable will do the trick. I had the same problem. The issue is that you have to use a "Null Modem Cable" to get it to communicate with the computer. The serial cables that Staples carries have a different configuration than a Null Modem Cable. I bought mine on eBay. Hope this helps.
P.S. - You may continue to have problems after you replace the cable. If you do, just change the port speed setting in the computer to 9600 in the Printer Properties dialogue under the Ports tab.
